TLC314 & Skipping Stones Design #65

This week Skipping Stones Design had a fun sketch. I recently purchased the Animal Crackers paper and stamps from Imaginsce, and I've been wanting to get my hands on them. I took a couple liberties with this sketch. I decided I wanted a vertical "sentiment" vs. a horizontal. I didn't use anything for the three small circles at the bottle because it was too cluttered. I wasn't planning on using both the polka dotted and striped paper, but the card looked boring with just one. Therefore, I incorporated both in to allow for a more festive feeling.

When I first saw the sentiment, "Life's a Circus" I thought about how crazy life can get. But as I designed this card, I wanted to add something more uplifting inside the tickets. I started thinking about what else a circus can bring. What might children think when going to a circus? That's when I realized that "life is a circus" because a circus allows us to dream, to live, and to explore the world around us. Thanks for a great sketch Lea Lawson.

P.S. Thanks to a comment by Rae, I went to the Split Coast Stampers site and learned about more fun challenges. This challenge uses homemade tickets. The small tickets were actually a stamp, but I did add the message to make it unique. I wanted to continue the ticket/circus theme, so I made my own ticket to stamp the monkey. Check out their site to find out how to make your own homemade ticket!
