Inky Paws Challenge #150 Reminder

There's still time to join our current Inky Paws Challenge!

Create a project using the sketch below:

I am using more of my pattern paper stash for today's card.
I adore the Doodlebug Design--Down on the Farm paper stack.
The papers work amazingly with Newton's Nook Designs farm sets!

The talk around the hen house by Debbie features Cluck, Framework, Frames & Flags, and Speech Bubbles by Newton's Nook Designs; #inkypaws, #newtonsnook, #birthdaycards, #cardmaking
I pulled the chicken paper, black & white gingham, red paisley, and chicken wire papers to coordinate with the trio of chickens from the Cluck stamp set.  I used the  Speech Bubbles die set for the speech bubble, the Frames & Flags die set for the little banner, and the Framework die set for the postage-edged die. This was a fun, easy card to make.  I found that this sketch worked well using pattern papers, and I have lots of paper in my stash!

Thanks for stopping by!  I look forward to seeing how you interpret the sketch!

Caffeine Fueled Paper Play-June Challenge

Here's another card featuring sentiments from Riley & Company and the fun coffee-lovin' flamingo from The Rabbit Hole Designs.

Caffeine Fueled Paper Play--June Challenge

I was lucky to win a Riley & Co. gift card awhile back, and I used it towards some amazing coffee-themed sentiments.

I paired these sentiments up with one of my favorite images from The Rabbit Hole Designs--Caffeinated Cat.

I kept these as one layer cards and very CAS.  I wanted the sentiment to get lots of attention with the cute cat as a fun accessory!

Stay tuned for more of these CAS cards with different characters!
Hugs, Debbie

Inky Paws Challenge #150

Time for another Inky Paws Challenge!

This time it's a

Sketch Challenge!

Use the sketch with your Newton's Nook Designs products!

You have until Friday, June 18, 2021 at Midnight CST to enter your project.
There's a $20 NND store credit for one lucky winner!

Here's my inspiration!

This sketch works wonderfully with pattern papers due to the rectangular panels, and I love to make coffee-themed cards.  I recently purchased the Daily Grind paper pad by Catherine Pooler, so I just had to pull out two of the fun papers.  I love that the cups on the paper have little kitty faces which coordinates purr-fectly with the Newton's Mug stamp set.  I colored the mug in teal colors to stay with the colors in the paper.  The added little kitty face stamped on the mug looks so cute and again pulls in the little mugs on the paper.  I added Glossy Accents to make the mug look more like a ceramic mug with a bit of shine.  The speech bubble works wonderfully for the circle element in the sketch.  I used the Speech Bubbles die set and added a bit of pink around the edges.  I popped the coffee mug with some dimensional tape.  That's it!  This was a simple card to make, but I love how it turned out!

I hope you will be inspired to join us at Inky Paws!

Hugs,
Debbie

Inky Paws Challenge #149 Reminder

Don't forget -

There's still time to play along with our latest Inky Paws Challenge!

Have you had a chance to make a card for our latest Inky Paws Challenge

Here'a a refresher.

Create a project using the colors:   mint, plum, green, and lilac.

Today I'm sharing some more inspiration for our current challenge!

Wish you were here by Debbie features Circle Frames, Waves, Frames Squared, Speech Bubbles, Scuba Newton, and Tides of Love by Newton's Nook Designs; #inkypaws, #cardmaking, #newtonsnook, #catcards

I decided to create an underwater scene using these unique challenge colors.
I started with a square card base on which I cut a scallop-edged square using the  Frames Squared die set. The paper has a fish-scale design and comes from the Beyond the Shores by First Edition paper stack that I recently purchased from JoAnn's. I then added texture paste on white card stock using the  Waves stencil and die cut using the scallop-edged circle using the die from Circle Frames die set. I add Newton from the Scuba Newton stamp set and fussy cut him out.  The sea critters, coral, and seaweed come from the Tides of Love and the Scuba Newton stamp sets.  My sentiment is framed using a speech bubble die from the Speech Bubbles die set.

Now it's your turn to use the challenge colors and your NND products to create your card or project.
You have until Friday, June 4, 2021.
Can't wait to see what you create!
Hugs,
Debbie

Thanks by Debbie features Heartfelt Blooms, Essential Alphabet, Frames & Flags, Heart Frames, Flower Trio by Newton's Nook Designs; #inkypaws, #newtonsnook, #cardmaking

I love the challenge colors, but have to admit that I struggled putting them onto a card.
I decided I wanted to use the Heartfelt Blooms stamp set. I stamped and colored the image twice.  I added one image onto a dark plum heart that I die cut using the Heart Frames die set.  I used the Essential Alphabet die set to cut out the sentiment on the second colored image. I adhered the letters on a black banner die cut using the banner die from the Frames & Flags die set. Using the leaves and stem die from the Flower Trio die set, I cut several out and placed behind the heart.  Before adhering to the white card base, I splattered some plum and some lavender paint.  A few sequins were added for a bit of shine.
This card really stretched me out of my normal comfort zone, but I do like how it turned out.  Hopefully I've inspired you to use your creative talents to join us at Inky Paws!

Debbie

Create a project using the theme--Thank You

Thank ewe by Debbie features Baa, Heart Frames, Woodland Spring, and Newton's Flower Garden by Newton's Nook Designs; #inkypaws, #newtonsnook, #cardmaking, #thankyoucards

For my card, I started with a black and white striped background.  I then stamped and colored the three lambs from the Baa stamp set. I added some Nuvo Crystal Drops to the lamps for extra fun.  I then die cut the little teal heart using the scallop-edged die from the Baa stamp set. I popped them up with dimension tape.  For added fun, I added pink flowers and pink butterflies using images from the Woodland Spring stamp and Newton's Flower Garden stamp set. I added twine through a button to pull in the teal color and add more dimension.

I hope you be inspired to join us!

Inky Paws Challenge #147 Reminder

There's still time to play with this fabulous sketch at Inky Paws!

Here'a a refresher.

Create a project using the sketch below:

Today I'm sharing some more inspiration for our current challenge!

You're so kind by Debbie features Paw-tumn Newton, Sunflower Days, Framework, and Frames & Flags by Newton's Nook Designs; #inkypaws, #newtonsnook, #cardmaking, #catcards

For my card, I was drawn to the sunflowers from the  Sunflower Days stamp set. I stamped the daisies three times and colored them with Spectrum Noir markers.  I then used the rounded-edge frame die from the Frames & Flags die set. I then added the flowers to a kraft card base with a green stripe.  I then die cut a black frame using a die from the Framework die set.  I love how these two die sets can be mixed and matched.  I added vellum the black frame for a soften look.  My main attraction is the kitten and sunflowers from the Paw-tumn Newton stamp set. I again colored with Spectrum Noir markers.  This card has a fall feel, so I added a blue bird for a pop of color to brighten the card.

I hope you are inspired and will have time to create a card showcasing your NND products and this fabulous sketch!  One randomly selected person will receive a $20 store credit!

Debbie

Sketch Challenge.

.

You have until Friday, May 7, 2021 at Midnight CST.

Here's my inspiration!

Let's be mermaids by Debbie features Frames & Flags,

I pulled out some newer papers with cool ocean colors and patterns and decided to make a soft underwater scene. I used the Frames & Flags and the Framework die sets to create the rectangular layers. Then I used the Sea Borders to create a wavy stripe as well as creating waves in the background. I then stamped, colored, and paper pieced the little kittens from the Purr-maid Newton stamp set. I stamped the sentiment on a white wave and adhered the fun, little seahorse. I added some sequins to add a bit more shimmer.

I hope you will come join us at Inky Paws. I can't wait to see how you use your Newton's Nook Designs products with this fun sketch!

I pulled out the Dainty Daisies stamp set and decided to stamp this image several times down the slimline card base.  After coloring the daisies in orange and yellow, I cut the layer down added fun foam behind it.  I placed the striped Washi layer along the length of the card. Then added the floral layer.  I stamped two sentiments from the Heartfelt Essentials stamp set.  I scattered a few clear sequins for a bit of bling.

Here's hoping you have time to pull out your Newton's Nook Designs products and use these fun colors!

Hope your day is loads of fun by Debbie features Newton Cleans Up, Houndstooth, and Slimline Masking Circles & Squares by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook, #inkypaws, #cardmaking, #catcards, #birthdaycard

These colors lend themselves to so many possibilities.  As I looked through my NND stamps, I spied the Newton Cleans Up stamp set.  I adore this stamp set, but don't use it nearly enough.  Out it came. I inked up the trio of images and colored them using the challenge colors.    I then decided to make a slimline card.  I used the  Slimline Masking Circles & Squares stencil set and Houndstooth stencil to create the three squares, each in a challenge color.  I arranged the overworked kitties on each square and popped them up with foam tape.  I then stamped the sentiment from the Newton Cleans Up stamp set and paired it with the birthday sentiment from the Newton Loves Cake stamp set.

Hope you are inspired to join us at Inky Paws!

For my card, I chose the darling Flamingo Flock stamp set. I colored them with Prismacolor pencils. I then cut this image down a bit by using the scallop-edged die from the Slimline Frames & Portholes and fussy cutting the top.  I then cut another scallop-edged frame using the Frames & Flags die set out of pale pink card stock. I stamped the sentiment on a white card stock and die cut for the scallop-edge.  I add a couple of gems to finish the card.

Time for a new Inky Paws Challenge!

Theme Challenge--

Use the theme--Friendship

Here's my inspiration!

Friends fur-ever by Debbie features Frameswork, Puppy Pals, Hardwood, Sky Borders, Sky Scene Builders, Forest Scene Builder by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook, #inkypaws, #friendshipcard, #cardmaking, #dogcards

At first I struggle with this challenge, but then I pulled out the  Puppy Pals stamp set.  These little puppies are just so cute.  I opted for a more masculine friendship card.  I create the background using multiple dies and stencils.  I made a wood grain frame using the Hardwood stencil and Framework die set. For the background scene, I used the Land Borders die set, Sky Borders  die set,  Sky Scene Builders die set, and
the Sky Borders  die set.  Since I live in the PNW, we have lots of tall cedar and fir trees, and often there is a crow atop one of those tall trees cawing for all to hear!

You have until April 9th to create a friendship product using your Newton's Nook Designs products.
One lucky winner will receive a $20 store voucher!
I can't wait to see what you create!

Debbie
