I am sliding in one last card that I made last night. This card features lots of scrap papers from Newton's Nook Designs Christmas paper pads.  I hate to throw away odd shaped pieces, so I decided to create a crazy "quilt" background.  I layered it with a vellum banner (Basic Frames) to separate the busyness of the paper from the image as well as to hide some little gaps. I used one of my favorite images of Winston.  This is from a retired set called Winston's Home for Christmas.

Today starts the beginning of the Inky Paws Challenge sketch, and it's a fun sketch to use with differently patterned papers!  I used a beloved, but retired stamp set called Newton's Candy Cane with papers from NND's Christmas Time and Canine Christmas paper pads.  I added a bit of Diamond Stickles on Newton's hat! Such a simple design, but isn't it the cutest card?

Here's my inspiration:

I have four cards to share today that use the same sketch and paper pad.  I am loving how the NND Farmyard paper goes perfectly with the farm animal stamps and Farmer Newton.  I didn't do anything fancy to the cards, but each one is very unique and fun.

I used a wood-grain embossing folder to give this card a rustic flair and more texture.

Nothing extra on this card, but I love that this card is filled with pastel colors while the other cards are more rustic looking.

This is probably my favorite of the four.  I used a chicken-wire embosssing folder on the Kraft base that not only adds more texture, but looks so cute with the trio of hens!

For this card, I added a white frame to several of the layerFarms to separate the busyness of the papers atop each other.

Inky Paws Challenge #227 Reminder

For my CAS card, I used the Flip-Flop Life stamp set to stamp the sentiment in brown. Then I repeatedly stamped the flip-flops on the card base using pink, blue, lavender Distress Inks.  Then I pulled out my acrylic paints and painted a striped backdrop which I die cut when it was dried.  I used the octoganal-stiched die from the Basic Frames die set and framed it with a kraft card stock using my Mini-Layers tool.  I then heat embossed the flip-flips in white.  With a sprinkling of sequins, the card was finished.

I love how this card showcases a little feline dreaming about scuba diving while practing his snorkeling skills in his fishbowl!  The power of dreams and striving towards them!

I am terrified of sharks, yet often find myself drawn to Shark Week!  I recently picked up this darling retired shark stamp set by Newton's Nook Designs called Shark Bites! I pulled in some seaweed and shells from various NND stamp sets. I used the  Frames & Tags die set and, again, used papers from the First Edition Beyond the Shore paper pad. (I have a lot more of this pad to destash!)

Summer at the Beach-Rise with the Tide

There are so many fun summer challenges happening right now, so I've created some fun summer-themed cards showcasing various Newton's Nook Designs' products with papers from my overly large paper stash.

This card features a retired stamp set called Newton's Perfect Wave.

The fun layout die is called Frames & Tags die set with waves created using the Sea Borders die set.
