Inky Paws Challenge #157 Reminder

There's still time!!

Create a Halloween project using your NND products!

Here's my inspiration:

You can count on me by Debbie features Count Newton, Batty Newton, Slimline Frames & Portholes, and Slimline Frames & Windows by Newton's Nook Designs; #inkypaws, #newtonsnook, #halloweencards, #catcards, #cardmaking
As soon as I saw the  Count Newton stamp set, I knew it would work perfectly with the  Batty Newton stamp set!  I combined the Slimline Frames & Portholes and the Slimline Frames & Windows die sets to create my tall and skinny card.  The window panels were cut using an old piece of pattern paper. I love the spooky images on it and thought it would add an eerie feel to the card.  I then added some black grass using the Land Borders die set.  I placed the panels in an askew manner before adding some tombstones from the  Count Newton stamp set. I wanted to add a playful touch, so I colored the capes, coffin, and tombstones in bright colors.  Who says Count Newton only has one cape? LOL  To finish, I heat embossed the sentiment in white.  I love how it turned out!

Can't wait to see what you create!

Debbie

I am so excited to share several projects I created using this super fun stamp set:

STAMPtember Exclusive stamp set by Newton's Nook--Talk Turkey to Me
For this card, I combined the Talked Turkey stamp set with the Cluck stamp set and Land Borders die set.

STAMPtember Exclusive stamp set by Newton's Nook--Talk Turkey to Me

For these two cards, I used the Houndstooth stencil to create an autumn-colored backdrop cut, so I could use on both cards.  This little puppy makes me smile.  Maybe I'll name him Joey! ;)

I distressed the background using the Falling Leaves stencil. I also used the Speech Bubbles die set for the fun sentiment!

For this circular card, I used the Circle Frames die set.  I thought the pumpkins and sunflowers would look very festive next to the pilgrim puppy.  I did some fussy cutting using the image from the Signs of Fall stamp set.

Be sure to snag your Talk Turkey stamp set before they are gone!

Inky Paws Challenge #157

Time for a Halloween Challenge at

 Inky Paws Challenge!

Here's my inspiration:

Happy Halloween by Debbie features Count Newton, Spooky Streek, and Slimline Frames & Windows by Newton's Nook Designs; #inkypaws, #newtonsnook, #halloweencards, #catcards, #cardmaking

I created a slimline card on a white card base.  I used distress oxide inks to create my purplish backdrop which I then die cut using the  Slimline Frames & Windows die set.  I then pulled out the Spooky Street stamp set and stamped on the three window panels.  I splattered on some black paint for more texture.  I then stamped different scenes--graveyard, haunted house, and spooky tree--on each window panel.  I placed the panels on a Halloween paper.  I pulled  out my quickly-becoming-a-favorite-stamp-set Count Newton stamp set!  I just adore these new images!  I used alcohol markers to color the two Newton images and a couple of tombstones.  I adhered with some dimension tape!

I hope you are now inspired to join us at Inky Paws where it's all about Halloween!!
You have until  Friday, September 24, 2021 at Midnight CST to link up your project for a chance to win a $20 store credit at Newton's Nook Designs!

There's still time to play!

Create a project using this fabulous sketch!

Happy Halloween by Debbie features Trick or Treat Kittens, Count Newton, Batty Newton, Land Borders, Framework, and Ghosts by Newton's Nook Designs; #inkypaws, #newtonsnook, #halloweencards, #cardmaking, #catcards
I am so loving the newly released Halloween sets!. For this card, I used the Trick or Treat Kittens stamp set. I added a mask for my kitten using a stamp from the  Newton's Costume Party stamp set. I created some black grass by die cutting using the  Land Borders die set.  Then I added a trio of tombstones using images from the Count Newton stamp set.  What's a graveyard without some ghastly ghosts?  I used Distress Oxide Inks (Squeezed Lemonade & Shaded Lilac) and the Ghosts stencil.  I love how they turned out!  For my sentiment, I heat embossed in white using the sentiment from the Batty Newton stamp set.  My entire background was cut using the postage-edged die from the  Framework die set. I used some dimension tape to pop up the kitten and one tombstone to give the card some dimension.  The combination of scary and cute makes me smile!

Now it's your turn to create a project using your NND products and the sketch.  You have until this Friday to link up for a chance to win a $20 store credit.  Can't wait to see what you create!

Enjoy your day by Debbie features Winston's Lake House, Mountains, Petite Clouds, and Snow Globe Scenes by Newton's Nook Designs; #inkypaws, #newtonsnook, #outdoorcards, #cardmaking

I wanted to create a fun outdoor scene set in the mountains by a lake--my idea of paradise!
I tried my drawing skills to create a lake for my lower horizontal element.  I pulled out some of my students' drawing books to try to add some dimension for the shoreline.  I then used one of my favorite non-feline NND stamp set--Winston's Lake House --to add Winston and his pal in their canoe and some cattails.  A mountain paradise wouldn't be paradise without a log house, so I added the little cabin also from the Winston's Lake House stamp set.  A mountain paradise needs mountains, so I used the Mountains stencil to add them in the background.  I would also want lots of evergreen trees, so I used the little fir tree stamp from the Snow Globe Scenes stamp set and added lots of trees.  As much as I like a nice thunderstorm in the mountains, I decided little puffy clouds would be a better idea for this card. I used the Petite Clouds stencil.  I added a bit of sunshine peeking above the mountains and added the sentiment. Ta-da....a slice of paradise all on a little card!

Now it's your turn to join us at Inky Paws!

Debbie

Pina koala by Debbie features Pineapple, Tropical Leaves, Pina Koala, Frames Squared, and Frames & Flags by Newton's Nook Designs; #inkypaws, #newtonsnook, #cardmaking, #tropicalcards
I was inspired by all the pineapples in the challenge photo, so I combined the Pina Koala stamp set and the Pineapple stencil for a slice of pineapple heaven!  I wanted more dimension on my card base, so I added texture paste with the Tropical Leaves stencil for more tropical fun.  I used two die sets to create the different layers:   Frames Squared and the Frames & Flags die sets.  I love how these sets can be intermingled to create lots of varied layers.  A bit of twine and yellow sequins finished off my card.

Meow's it going by Debbie features Hills & Grass, Captivated Kittens, and Sky Scene Builder by Newton's Nook Designs; #inkypaws, #newtonsnook, #catcards, #cardmaking

I used the  Hills & Grass stencil to create wavy stripes in the challenge colors.  I splattered some white paint on it before I cut this into 1/2 inch stripes and arranged them on the card base.  I stamped and fussy cut the kitten with his butterfly net using the Captivated Kittens stamp set.  I added some big puffy clouds die cut using the Sky Scene Builder die set.  I added some flowers and fluttering bugs to finish it off.

I hope this inspires you to join us for this fun challenge!

Create a project using Stripes on your NND project!

Here's my inspiration card!

A note of thanks by Debbie features Classy Teachers, Newton's Book Club, & Slimline Frames & Windows by Newton's Nook Designs; #inkypaws, #newtonsnook, #catcards, #thankyoucards, #cardmaking

With school just around the corner for me, I was drawn to these book-lovin' kitties.  I wasn't sure how to incorporate stripes until I look through my pattern papers.  I found the Back to School Doodlebug Design stack.  When I saw the primary writing paper, I thought, "Ha!  This is it!" All those parallel lines would make perfect stripes!  I opted on a slimline card and pulled out both the Slimline Frames & Windows and the Slimline Frames & Portholes die sets.  These sets can be mixed and matched to create different layered looks.  I cut out three squares from the writing paper.  I also cut out the red banner on which I white embossed the sentiment taken from the Classy Teachers stamp set. I then stamped and colored two of the kitties from the Newton's Book Club stamp set.  I fussy cut them out. (I really do need to invest in the coordinating die set, but then again, I do find cutting things out therapeutic!)  I added a bit of jute twine for the finishing touch. For even more "stripes" I decided to color the books in a pattern of red and then gray.  I also kept the color scheme simple--black and white with pops of red. I love how this turned out!  Now it's your turn to share your striped NND creation!  You have until Friday, August 13, 2021.  There's a $20 NND store credit for one lucky participant!

Find you paradise by Debbie features Frames Squared and Paradise Palms by Newton's Nook Designs; #inkypaws, #newtonsnook, #cardmaking, #tropicalcards

I created a rainbow striped backdrop by doing a bit of masking and distressing. I thought this would look fabulous with the silhouette of the palm trees from the Paradise Palms stamp set.  I added a black scallop-edged frame for a dramatic effect.  This was die cut using a die from the Frames Squared die set.  A CAS card that packs a lot of color and fun.

Now it's your turn to create a project with stripes and NND products!

Shell-ebrate by Debbie features Newton's Seashell, Seashell Roundabout, Circle Frames, Frames Squared, and Frames & Flags by Newton's Nook Designs; #inkypaws, #newtonsnook, #cardmaking, #catcards, #summercards
I just love all the summer products at Newton's Nook Designs.  There are so many to choose from, and they are so fun to mix and match!  I went with a very beachy color palette with sea foam green and pale peachy-pink.  I love how they go together!  I used the Seashells stencil to create the background. I added the peachy-pink banner which I die cut using the Frames & Flags die set.  I pulled the sea foam pattern paper and die cut it using a die from the Frames Squared die set.  I stamped and colored the image from the  Seashell Roundabout stamp set and die cut using the scallop-edged circle from the  Seashell Roundabout stamp set.  I lightly colored Newton in gray. I love this mini-stamp set--Newton's Seashell.  It's quickly becoming a favorite!  I stamped the sentiment and die cut using another die from the Frames & Flags die set. I added glossy accent on some of the shells for added dimension.  Want to see more cards using these products?  Check out how my teammates used them!

I wanted to use the newly released  BBQ Roundabout stamp set.  I love summer and having neighborhood BBQs, so this set won my heart.  I paired it up with Winston enjoying his slice of watermelon from the Woodland Picnic stamp set.  I thought about created a distressed background, but I eyed my ever so large stash of papers and decided to pull some out and use them up.  These amazing papers are from the Doodlebug Designs Bar-B-Cute stack.  I love the bright colors!  To cut all the layers out, I used the Framework die set for the postage-edged layer. For the banner, I used Frames & Flags die set.  For the rounded square, I used the Frames Squared die set. The scallop-edged circle was cut using a die from the Circle Frames die set.  I love being able to mix and match dies from all these sets.

I hope you will be inspired to play with this sketch!  I look forward to seeing your NND projects!

Inky Paws Challenge #151--Reminder

Just wanted to remind everyone that there is still time to

join the Inky Paws Challenge!

Create a project using the theme-Summer

Today I'm sharing some more inspiration for our current challenge!

Stay cool by Debbie features Newton's Summer Vacation, Dog Days of Summer, Circle Frames, and Waves by Newton's Nook Designs; #inkypaws, #newtonsnook, #summercards, #catcards
My neighbor's little daughter was blowing bubbles that drifted by my craft room window.  This inspired me to make a card using lots of "bubble-like" elements--circles!  I began by using the Bokeh Stencil set with texture paste for the background.  I then layered some circles die cut using the Circle Frames die set.  For the two smaller circles, I used the Waves stencil and more texture paste.  I decided color was needed, so I pulled out Distress Ink for a seafoam greenish look.  I continued this seafoam green on the floaties and added some dark yellow for the dots.  Those water-loving friends are from the Newton's Summer Vacation and the  Dog Days of Summer stamp set.  I added some extra "bubbles" using Enamel Accents.   I love having both a kitten and puppy on the same card!

Now it's your turn to create a Summer Project using your NND products.
One lucky participant will win a $20 store credit to Newton's Nook Designs!
Will it be you!
