Inky Paws Challenge #137

Haven't made your NND card yet?

No worries.  You still have time!

Create a project using the colors:

Lime Green, Grass Green, Red, White

Here's my inspiration:

Merry & Bright by Debbie features Newton's Home for Christmas, Sentiment of the Season, Plaid, Slimline Frame & Windows, and Slimline
I made a fun Christmas card using the challenge colors.  I combined the Slimline Frames & Windows and the Slimline Frames & Porthole die sets to create the frames in red and lime green. I used the Plaid stencil to create a panel which I die cut to fit the outer windows. I added a banner in the center window with the "Merry & Bright" sentiment from the  Sentiments of the Season stamp set. Two Winston images from the Winston's Home for Christmas stamp set were colored with Spectrum Noir markers and popped up with dimension tape. Nothing super fancy for this card, but I really like how it turned up!  Hope you will join us soon!

Now it's your turn to create a project using the challenge colors and using your Newton's Nook Designs stamps, dies, and/or stencils.  Be sure to link it up at Inky Paws Challenge.

Debbie

Cupcake Inspirations has a new theme challenge to whet your whistle and inspire your creativity.

For this fortnight we have a theme challenge. Here is this challenge's cupcake!

My card features a yummy candy cane!

Happy Holidays by Debbie features Newton's Candy Cane by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook, #cupcakeinspirations, #cardmaking

I started by embossing the card base with a vertical embossing folder.  I then die cut several black border frames using dies from Frames & Flags and Framework die sets by Newton's Nook Designs.  I then made the clear panel by taking a laminating pouch and sprinkling some red glitter inside it.  I then ran it through my laminating machine.  I die cut it with the Frames & Flags scallop-edged die.  I sandwiched this panel between the black border frames.  This was adhered to the base with dimension tape.  The sweet, but naughty, kitten is from NND's Newton's Candy Cane stamp set.  I colored with Spectrum Noir markers and fussy cut it out.  I placed the candy cane over the twine and adhered with more 3D tape.  I added a twine bow to finish it off.  For the sentiment, I added a black banner (Frames & Flags die set) and heat embossed the sentiment in white.  This sentiment is from NND's Christmas Roundabout stamp set.  Again I used 3D tape to make it pop.  A couple of sequins finished it off.  This was my first attempt using laminating pouches, and I'm excited to try different products inside them.  I love the idea of a clear panels or a clear card!

Hope you will link up at Cupcake Inspirations!  You have until, Friday, December 4, 2020.

Happy Crafting!

Here's my inspiration!

I know I'm a cat lady, but this sweet puppy won my heart. I just had to use him for this challenge. My circle card base was made by die cutting using the Circle Frames die set. I then stamped the festive holiday image from the Christmas Roundabout stamp set. I used my Prisma Color pencils on this one.  I added the puppy from the Christmas Puppies stamp set. and embossed the sentiment on a black strip.  I can't wait to use the other puppies in this set.  Then it will be all about the kitties in the A Kitten Christmas stamp set!

I hope my card has inspired you to join this challenge using these yummy colors.  You have until  Friday, December 4, 2020 at Midnight CST.  One lucky participant will be the winner of a $20 gift voucher to Newton's Nook Designs!

So I am not good at picking out just one favorite sets!  I love the fawn images from Newton's Nook Designs, but couldn't decide which one was my favorite favorite, so I decided to create a holiday card featuring a fawn from each season using the "Season's Greetings" sentiment to pull it all together!  To fit all the images, I made a a 5 1/4" x 5 1/4' card with a wood grain layer die cut using the Frames Squared  die set.  I heat embossed the sentiment from the the Ornamental Wishes stamp set in white on a black card base.  The sweet fawn images are from the Festive Fawns, the Woodland Spring, the Woodland Picnic, and the Harvest Tails stamp sets. I added a few sequins for a bit of sparkle and red & white twine for an extra dose of holiday spirit!

Now it's your turn to create a project using the challenge colors and using your Newton's Nook Designs stamps, dies, and/or stencils.  Be sure to link it up at Inky Paws Challenge.

Inky Paws Challenge #136

Ready to get your "paws" inky?

Inky Paws has a new challenge starting today!

Theme Challenge

Create a project using your favorite

Newton's Nook Designs stamp set!

Here's my inspiration!

Merry Christmas features Newton's Curious Christmas, Slimline

Picking my favorite Newton's Nook Designs stamp set is really an impossible task.  I won my first NND stamp set (Newton's Holiday Mischief stamp set) in February 2013.  I was immediately hooked and have grown my collection to nearly every set!  To narrow down my favorite set, I knew it had to be cats!  Then I decided I needed more Christmas cards, so I combined the Newton's Curious Christmas and the Santa Paws Newton stamp set. I used the Slimline Frames & Portholes die set to have room to establish the kitten on the rooftop awaiting a glimpse of Santa.  Then the scene changes to the Santa sliding down the chimney with the last panel with Santa pulling presents out of his back.  If there had been room, you would have seen Newton fast asleep on his blanket (Newton's Naptime) and then him opening presents (Newton's Birthday Bash). But, alas, I ran out of room.  I used banner from the Frames & Flags die set with the sentiment from the Newton's Christmas Kittens stamp set.

I hope my card has inspired you to join this challenge using these yummy colors.  You have until  Friday, November 20, 2020 at Midnight CST.  One lucky participant will be the winner of a $20 gift voucher to Newton's Nook Designs!

Create a project using this sketch!

Create a project using this fun sketch!

Here's my card to inspire you!

I got a bit crazy with layers on this one. I began with a black wood grain pattern paper die cut with the postage-edged die from the Framework die set. I then used the Mugs stencil and red distress ink to make the coffee layer. It was cut using the rounded-corner rectangle from the  Frames & Flags die set. I added the diagonal stripes in the wood grain paper and red card stock. I added a vellum layer and die cut using the fancy rectangle from the  Frames Squared die set. My sentiment was customized by cutting "nap" from the sentiment phrase in the Slothy Christmas stamp set.  I then cut "coffee" from the  Slothy Coffee stamp set sentiment.  My new phrase, "All I Want for Christmas is Coffee!", was heat embossed in black. I added the sloth in his little coffee mug from the Slothy Coffee stamp set.  I added a little snowflake from the dies in the Snow Globe Shaker die set. I thought I needed some more Christmas-y elements, so I added some pine sprigs using the  Pines & Holly die set. I pulled out some red brads to help attach the vellum elements.  (I'm not good at adding vellum.)

Now it's your turn to create a project using the challenge colors and using your Newton's Nook Designs stamps, dies, and/or stencils.  Be sure to link it up at Inky Paws Challenge.

My card features Newton's Nook Designs products.
The clouds were distressed using the Clouds stencil and distress inks. I die cut the base out using the Frames & Flags die set. I added some grass using the Land Borders die set.  The little puss-in-boots, sentiment, and bat are from the Witchy Newton stamp set.
I love the color combination of this card and that it's smaller than my traditional 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 inch cards. A bit of jute twine was my finishing touch.

Hope you will use the challenge theme and link up your project!

Sketch Challenge

Create a project using the above sketch!

Meow you doing by Debbie features Newton Unwinds and Frames & Flags by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook, #cardmaking,

I had so much fun playing with this sketch.  I began with a Tim Holtz embossing folder--dotted lines--that mimics strings of yarn.  Then I pulled out this amazing fun feline paper by Doodlebug Design.  It's called Kitten Smitten.  I love the bright pastel colors and different patterns, especially the yarn paper in the center.  I cut the center panel out using the rounded-corner die from the Frames & Flags die. The stitched edging adds such a nice touch.  For my main attraction, I showcased the little feline on the big ball of yarn from the Newton Unwinds stamp set.  I added the sentiment and "underlined" it with the little ball of yarn.

I hope my card has inspired you to join this challenge using these yummy colors.  You have until  Friday, November 6, 2020 at Midnight CST.  One lucky participant will be the winner of a $20 gift voucher to Newton's Nook Designs!

A new Cupcake Inspirations Challenge starts today!

Here's my inspiration to whet your appetite!

My card uses Newton's Nook Design's stamps and dies.  I also used the sketch from the current Inky Paws Challenge.I used a retired NND stamp set (one of my favorites) for the trio of costume clad critters.
I cut the center using the Circle Frames die set. Peeking behind the cut out are spooky images from the Spooky Roundabout stamp set. The sentiment was stamped on a die cut from the Banner Trio die set.

Now it's your turn to create using these gorgeous colors!

Hope you will join the Sweeties using the CIC theme.

Happy haunting by Debbie features Spooky Roundabout, Halloween Trio, Circle Frames, Frames & Flags, Hoppy Halloween, Candy Corn, and Spiderweb by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook

I adore Newton's Nook Designs products.  Besides being totally darling images, I love the way you mix and match between stamp sets!  Then there are the amazing stencils and fun dies.  This card features lots of products.  I began with a purple distressed background die cut using the scallop-edged frame die from the Frames & Flags die set.  This set is one of my go-to die sets and was so worth purchasing!  I added orange cobwebs using the Spiderweb stencil. I then die cut the scallop-edge circle using a die from the  Circle Frames die set.  I stamped the fun Halloween images using the  Spooky Roundabout  stamp set. The black banner with the white embossed sentiment was die cut using a banner from the Frames & Flags die set (another go-to set). The trio of Halloween critters are from the Frames & Flags die set and colored using Spectrum Noir markers.  All the candy scattered around them come from the Candy Corn and the Halloween stamp sets.  Again, I love finding the little images that can be used with different stamp sets to give my card those extra fun elements.

Now it's your turn to create a project using the challenge colors and using your Newton's Nook Designs stamps, dies, and/or stencils.  Be sure to link it up at Inky Paws Challenge.
