Why limit happy to an hour by Debbie features Slimline Frames & Potholes, Slimline Frames & Windows, Pina Koala, Cocktail Mixer, and Summer Scoops by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook
What better way to enjoy summer than with a nice icy cocktail?  To create my layers, I used combined several dies from the newly released the Slimline Frames & Portholes and Slimline Frames & Windows die sets.  I used some seriously fun pineapple pattern paper which inspired the whole card!  I heat embossed the sentiment from the Cocktail Mixer stamp set on a die cut circle.  I added the koala from the Pina Koala stamp set and the pina colada from the Cocktail Mixer stamp set.  I added some glossy accents to the glass for a bit of dimension and shine.  I then added the cherry from the Summer Scoops stamp set for a pop of red!  Now all I need is a warm sunny day!

I hope you will be inspired to join the Inky Paws' Summer Theme Challenge!

Debbie

CIC#497--Double Trouble Partner

Welcome to Cupcake Inspirations Challenge--

This week will ask you to include Flowers with Pearls and/or Sequins.

We've also partnered up with
Double Trouble!

When you enter our challenge this week, be sure to run over to the Double Trouble Challenge blog and see what their co-coordinating challenges are, so  you can link up with them as well!  The more aspects of the challenge you do, the more entries you will receive to win their prize!

Here's my inspiration!

I wanted to make a fun, playful summer card with a hint of flowers, sequins, and pearls.  I used Newton's Nook Design's Sunscape stencil to create the sunshine and the sandy beach.  I then used NND's Wave stencil to create the cool, blue waves.  I added some palm trees to my scene using NND's Paradise Palms stamp set.  I stamped a couple surfing-lovin' felines from NND's Perfect Wave stamp set.  I then die cut a couple Polaroid picture frames and placed them over the felines.  I adhered and trimmed.  I added a sequin flower and leaves to the kitten holding the floral surf board and a little crab cut out to the boy's photo.  I sprinkled a few sequins and added some brown pearls on the palm, now turned coconut, trees!  I heat embossed the sentiment. That's it--a fun, playful little card just right for summer!

Now it's your turn to play with Cupcake Inspirations Challenge--Flowers with pearls and/or sequins!  Don't forget to check out the Double Trouble Challenge!

Today I have some more inspiration for this Challenge!

Party 'til the cows come home by Debbie features Moo, Hardwood, Framework, Land Borders, and Circle Frames by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook
My dad's birthday is coming up, and many of my fondest childhood memories are when I helped him at my grandfather's farm.  So this week's card has a farming theme.  I created a red wood-grain background using the Hardwood stencil, embossing paste mixed with Red Barn Distress Ink.  I ran it through my Big Shot with the  Framework die set. I created the green grass using the Land Borders die set.  I stamped lots of bales of hay and fussy cut them to create the center strip of the sketch.  I added a kraft card stock, scallop-edged circle using the Circle Frames die set. Using the same set, I cut out a smaller circle on white card stock which I then stamped the barn and added a path.  Last I stamped the cow from the  Moo stamp set and colored with Spectrum Noir markers.

I hope you will join the Inky Paws challenge.  This is a fabulous skectch.
Hugs,
Debbie

Inky Paws Challenge #126 and Cupcake Inspirations Challenge #496

Welcome to new challenges by Inky Paws

and Cupcake Inspirations!

Inky Paws is having a super fun sketch challenge and Cupcake Inspirations has fabulous colors to play with, so I decided to combine the two challenges!  Hope you will be inspired by the sketch and/or the colors!

Here are the colors from Cupcake Inspirations!

Here is the sketch from Inky Paws!
Sketch Challenge

Create a project using the above sketch.

Both challenges end Friday, July 3, 2020.

Here's my inspiration!

You make me a happy camper by Debbie features Cozy Campers, Framework, and Circle Frames by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook
Using Inky Paws sketch, I created my background by using the smaller images from Newton's Nook Designs' Cozy Campers stamp set. I colored the little flower in tangerine, heart in cyan, and the flamingo in pink.  I added a teal stripe, and die cut using the postage-edge die from NND's Framework die set. I stamped the sentiment and added orange twine.  I then pulled out pink card stock and die cut the scallop-edged circle from NND's Circle Frames die set. From the same set, I die cut the smaller white circle and stamped the little camper from Cozy Campers. I colored it in cyan, tangerine, and a bit of pink.  My final touch was the little flamingo which I popped up with a bit of foam tape. I love how this turned out!  Making one's own pattern paper is a fabulous way to utilize those smaller images in a stamp set while ensuring all the elements work together splendidly!

Now it's time to show off your Newton's Nook Designs products and play with the Inky Paws Challenge Sketch.  Link up at Inky Paws!

Love the colors?  Then link up your project at Cupcake Inspirations Challenge!

I can't wait to see how you use the sketch, the colors, or both!

Thinking of you by Debbie features Loveable Llamas, Framework, Cuppa Cactus, Sunscape, Land Borders, Banner Trio, and Floral Roundabout by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook
I decided to use the Loveable Llamas stamp set. I colored the blanket and the small pots of cacti in the challenge colors. I also added a pot with a larger cactus using the Cuppa Cactus stamp set.  I placed these elements on some green hills die cut using the Land Borders die set.  All of this was added to a sunny backdrop using the Sunscape stencil.  The postage-edged die was used to die cut the layers.  For the sentiment I pulled out a sentiment from the Floral Roundabout stamp set on a slim banner from the Banner Trio die set

Hope you will be inspired to join Inky Paws using these fabulous colors!
I also wanted to let you know Newton's Nook Designs is having their June Preview!

For my card, I went with a more masculine theme.  I used Newton's Nook Design's Framework die set to cut the red bandana. I added the navy blue stripe and added a cork banner. The little puppy friends is NND's Puppy Pals stamp set. I added a bit of jute for my final touch.

I hope you will be inspired to join the Cupcake Inspirations' friendship challenge!

Inky Paws Challenge #125

This biweekly challenge is a:
Color challenge

Create a project using the colors:

TurquoiseOrange, Green, and Yellow

Here's my inspiration!

Thinking of You by Debbie features Banner Trio, Floral Roundabout, Easter Lily, and Waves by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook
This week's challenge colors are just beautiful with so many ways to use them with your Newton's Nook Products. See my Cupcake Inspirations post for a friendship card featuring IPC's colors!

I went with a clean and simple layout for this card. I started using the Waves stencil with Peacock Feathers Distress Ink. I stamped the sprig of lilies using the Easter Lily stamp set and fussy cut.  There is a coordinating die set, but I find cutting very therapeutic!  I colored them with Spectrum Noir and Copic Ciao markers. I die cut the oval banner from the newly released Banner Trio die set and stamped the sentiment in Peacock Feathers.  This sentiment is also from the May release.  It's the Floral Roundabout stamp set (again see my CIC post to see more of this fabulous stamp set).  I added a splattering of orange and yellow sequins.  See the orange twine bow?  It's what was wrapping my last Newton's Nook order!  (Thanks, Newton!)

Now it's your turn to use these beautiful colors with your NND products.  Don't have any NND products yet?  Never fear.  NND has free digital images, so you can play along.  You might even be the lucky winner of the randomly drawn $20 store credit!  What a great way to start your collection or add to it!  Link up at Inky Paws by Friday, June 19, 2020. Good luck!
Hugs, Debbie

Here's my inspiration by the Sweeties to whet your appetite!

If friends were flowers, I'd pick you! features Floral Roundabout, Circle Frames, and Newton's Flower Garden by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook, #cupcakeinspirations

A few days ago, I had Happy Mail from Newton's Nook. The sentiment from the Newton's Flower Garden stamp set was perfect for this week's CIC Friendship challenge.  If you haven't seen the current Inky Paws Challenge, then you haven't seen the delicious colors!  I had to use them on this card.  (Check my Inky Paws #125 post to see my other card using these colors!)  In addition to the sentiment, I used the newly released Floral Roundabout stamp set and Circle Frames die set. Of course, I had to use one of the new Newton's from the Newton's Flower Garden stamp set to complete my card.  Once I tentatively placed everything on the white card base, I thought it needed a little something more.  So I added some orange splatters to add a bit of "fun" interest as well as distressed the sentiment circle for a bit of contrast.  So are you ready to create your Friendship card?  Be sure to link it up at Cupcake Inspirations!

Here'a a refresher for both challenges:

Thanks a bunch by Debbie features Dainty Daisies, Framework, and Gingham by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook

I decided to combine the colors of the Cupcake Inspirations Challenge with the floral theme from Inky Paws and I came up with this pretty card featuring Newton's Nook Designs' Dainty Daisies stamp. I colored these delightful flowers in the CIC colors.  I wasn't sure how this was going to work out without using green, but I love how the gray stems turned out.  I used the scallop-edged die from the NND's Framework die set. I then embossed it with a Swiss polka dotted folder.  I created a black and cream gingham layer using the Gingham stencil. I heated embossed the sentiment in a pale pink on a black circle panel. I added a a jute twine and a couple of cream dots.

Let your dreams blossom by Debbie features Dainty Daisies and Gingham by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook
I decided to combine my orange daisies from the Dainty Daisies stamp set with gingham.  I started by distressing the bottom third of my card in black and using the Gingham stencil.  I added my orange flowers using some foam tape.  I added a bit of green twine.  I stamped the sentiment to the right of the flowers to balance my card.  I finished by added some black enameled dots.  It was a simple card to make, but I think the gingham works beautifully with the flowers!

Now it's your turn to link up at Inky Paws!
Can't wait to see your creations!

Debbie

My admin has been encouraging us to take care of ourselves during this difficult time.  One suggestion was to try a new hobby.  Well, I'd been thinking about this for awhile but looking at my craft room, I knew I had no room to start a new hobby.  Then looking over my budget, I decided I should start anything new.  Therefore, I decided to use my supplies on hand and repurposed them.  Walking around my neighborhood, I've noticed many times painted rocks.  I know this has been a fad for awhile, but I've never stopped enjoying seeing these little pieces of art that bring smiles to those who happen upon them.  Not being much of an artist, I decided to use my stamps instead of drawing on them.  This particular rock is sporting Newton's Nook Designs--Newton Scoots By.   After some trial and error, I found Stazon ink works the best.  Before applying Mod Podge, I go back over the lines with a ultra fine tip permanent marker.  I am still experimenting with stamping on rocks, but it has been fun to use products I already love on a new medium.  Now I get the joy of leaving a bit of "love" at my neighbors' houses!

Maybe you could try your hand at stamping and painting a rock!
Hugs, Debbie

Inky Paws Challenge #123 Reminder

Today I'm sharing some more inspiration
for our current challenge!

Here'a a refresher.

Create a project using the challenge sketch!

Today I have more inspiration for this Challenge:

It's your birthday by Debbie features Holding Happiness by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook
I am still loving the lovely lady stamp sets from Newton's Nook.  This week I used the three ladies from the Holding Happiness stamp set. For my background, I drew in lines and added knot holes to give it a wooden panel effect.  I added some foam to the back to give a bit of dimension and added twine and glossy accents for the final touches.

I hope the sketch and my card will inspire you to join the Inky Paws Challenge!  You might be the lucky winner of a store credit of $20.  (With the May release happening this week, wouldn't that come in handy?)  Link up at Inky Paws!

Welcome to a new Inky Paws Challenge!

Sketch Challenge

Create a project using the Sketch.

Here's my inspiration!

For a special teacher features Classy Teachers, Framework, and Darling Hearts by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook
I created a simple card this week with this amazing sketch!  Last week was teacher appreciation week, and I work with three amazing teachers!  Thus I was inspired to use the Classy Teachers stamp set.  I used the Framework die set with the alphabet paper. I used Spectrum Noir markers and lots of Glossy Accents. I used the Darling Hearts die set for the little hearts at the top for a pop of color.

I so hope you will join us for this fabulous sketch challenge!  You have until May 22, 2020!
Hugs,
Debbie

On another note.  The Cupcake Inspirations Challenge is having a Design Team call.
