I have two cards using the same papers but for different occasions.

You're electrifying by Debbie features Frames & Flags, Framework, Halloween Meows, Canine Christmas, and Franken-Newton by Newton's Nook Designs; #inkypaws, #newtonsnook, #halloweencards, #catcards, #cardmaking, #cardchallenge
I started by selecting the purple striped paper from the Halloween Meows paper pad and the green hounds tooth paper from the Canine Christmas paper pads. I used the scallop-edge frame die from the Framework die set on both papers.  I then stacked them together and cut my diagonal strips. I then cut two white pieces using the same die.  I alternated the papers on one of the white scalloped pieces.  I then used the other pieces and repeated the process. For the Halloween card, I placed the striped frames on a white scalloped layer (Frames & Flags die set) and stamped the sentiment on a banner using the same die set  I proceeded to color the Bride of Frankenstein in shades of purple and green with just a splash of orange.

Grateful for you by Debbie features Frames & Flags, Framework, Halloween Meows, Canine Christmas, Chrysanthemum, and Fall Roundabout by Newton's Nook Designs; #inkypaws, #newtonsnook, #floralcards, #cardmaking, #cardchallenge

I took the second striped, scalloped piece and wrapped some jute twine around it before adhering it to a white card base.  I then colored some mum blooms from the Chrysanthemum stamp set and popped it up with some 3D foam tape.  I used a sentiment from the Fall Roundabout stamp set. I love how both cards turned out.  I also loved not wasting any of the pattern paper and seeing how to use the combination of papers for two different occasions.

Now it's your turn! I can't wait to see how you use the challenge sketch!

Hugs,
Debbie

I have a fun Halloween card!

My first instinct for this sketch was to use pattern paper, but I wanted to challenge myself to try something different.  Therefore I pulled out the
Ghosts stencil and some tape for masking.  I placed tape over the stencil at a diagonal and used distress ink.  I continued to do this using different colored inks to create the stripes.  I die cut using the scallop-edged die from the Framework die set. I place it on a larger scallop-edge layer (Frames & Flags die set) using paper from the Halloween Woofs paper pad. I changed the oval to a circle and used a die from the Circle Frames die set to create the black circle.  I used one of my favorite images from the Franken-Newton stamp set, and colored him in green, purple, and orange.  I added the Halloween sentiment on a couple of banners and then I put a little bat (Count Newton stamp set) for an extra touch!

Debbie

I have a beautiful autumn card using these beautiful colors!

I started by distressing a turquoise background die cut using the scallop-edged die from the Frames & Flags die set. I then found the plaid paper that matched the challenge colors wonderfully.  This paper is from the Autumn paper pad. I loved the sunflower arrangement from the Fall Harvest stamp set, so I combined it with the sunflower image from the Paw-tumn Newton stamp set.  Don't they coordinate amazingly?  I then added the gold foil sentiment (Autumn Greetings Hot Foil Plates) on a little banner.  The total effect is a gorgeous autumn card!

Bright birthday wishes by Debbie features Newton's Birthday Delights, Confetti, Bright Sentiments, Frames & Flags by Newton's Nook Designs; #inkypaws, #newtonsnook, #birthdaycards, #cardmaking, #catcards, #cardchallenge

I used Fossilized Amber, Carved Pumpkin, and Peacock Feather Distress Oxide inks to distress my background with the Confetti stencil. I then use the scallop-edged die from the Frames & Flags die set.  I wrap the orange & white twine around it.  I adhered it to the white card base.  I then add the darling the triple scoop of ice cream cone from the Newton's Birthday Delights stamp set.  I added some Glossy Accents for added dimension.  I popped it up with dimension tape.  I used the Bright Sentiments Hot Foil Plates for the sentiment.  A few sequins were added for extra sparkle.

I have a super fun card that will get you in the mood for a pumpkin-spiced latte!

Can you believe fall is just around the corner?

Harvest Blessings by Debbie features Autumn, Framework, Pumpkin Latte, Autumn Greetings by Newton's Nook Designs; #inkypaws, #newtonsnook, #autumncards, #harvestcards, #fallcards, #cardchallenge, #cardmaking

I really like using the papers to make the stripes for this challenge.  For this card, I used the Autumn paper pad.  I love the colors of teal, orange, and brown together.  Then there are those delicious-looking mugs of coffee with whipped cream.  I just couldn't resist cutting the paper into stripes and pairing it with some orange gingham.  Once I got all the stripes adhered to a piece of card stock, I used the postage-edged die from the  Framework die set.  I added some jute twine and to create the bow.  I added a piece of burlap paper to give the card some more texture and a country-feel before adding the latte-lovin' lady from the umpkin Latte stamp set. There is a coordinating die set for this stamp set; however, I used my Scan 'N Cut instead.  I pulled out some gold foil to create the sentiment using the newly released Autumn Greetings Hot Foil Plates.  I love how this turned out.

I have a few fun cards this week.

If you can't decide what paper to use, why not use strips of several of them.  I did just that for a trio of birthday cards.  These cards are super fun to make.  Just select several papers and make small stripes.  Add them to your card base, and add your images and embellishments.

Now it's your turn! I can't wait to see how you use this super fun sketch!

I have a beautiful card this week.

I started using the Quatrefoil stencil for my background. I think this stencil gives cards such an elegant touch.  I then added a black panel with gold trim above and below it.  I then stamped a lot of succulents from the Succulent Garden stamp set and cut using my Scan 'N Cut machine.  I colored them with my Copic markers.  I did some research, and I was surprised with the range of colors that succulents come. I arranged them in three groups and popped a few up with 3D tape.  I stamped the sentiment on a banner that was die cut using a die from the Frames & Flags die set. A couple of jewels for some bling.  I love how the black creates an elegant, dramatic touch.

I have a fun card this week.

I was searching through my NND stamps to find a set I haven't used in a while.  When I saw these stockings, I thought the sketch could easily be converted into a mantle on which to hang them. So I found some wood grained paper and anchored it with some Kraft card stock.  I then hung my trio of stockings from the Holiday Stockings stamp set and cut using dies from the Stylish Stockings die set using gold brads.  I actually used colored pencils to shade them versus markers.  The mantle wouldn't be complete without some boughs of holly, so I pulled out the Pines & Holly die set and cut a few boughs and added some red dots for holly. For my sentiment, I cut a banner using a die from the Frames & Flags die set and stamped the sentiment which is from the Newton's Christmas Kittens stamp set.

I used the challenge colors for a playful summer scene complete with the little puppies from the Beach Barks stamp set. I paired them with papers from the Summertime paper pad. Using the scallop-edged oval from the Oval Frames die set, I created a little swimming pool using the blue bubbly paper, again from the Summertime paper pad. I completed the card with a summer sentiment from the Seashell Roundabout stamp set.

I have a fun card this week.

For my card, I used the Palm Tree Line stencil with distress inks.  I love the red and pink striped trunks! then I added some distressing in green and then in blue. I kept the edging "rough" for a more abstract look.  Then I added some pink and red striped paper from the Love & Chocolate paper pad. I added the sentiment from the Summer Moments stamp set on a stitched circle with a large blue circle framing. To do this, I used the Circle Frames die set.

Ready for some summer camping?  I recently sold my travel trailer and have been missing it a bit, so I decided to create a little camping scene.  I made some shadowy mountains in the background using distress ink and the (Mountains stencil. I then added the beach and water.  I used distress inks, but I decided to give it a more abstract look by not using any more stencils.  I then added the vintage station wagon.  (My hubby has fond family vacation memories in an old wagon!) This cute car is from the Beach Bound stamp set. I added a color coordinated trailer and a signature pink flamingo from the Cozy Campers stamp set.  I used my Scan 'n Cut to cut these images out.  (There are coordinating die sets available.)  The whole scene was cut using the rounded rectangular die from the Frames & Flags die set. I added the sentiment from the Newton's Summer Vacation stamp set.
