Inky Paws Challenge #183

Time for a new Inky Paws Challenge!

This challenge is a

Sketch Challenge.

You have until Friday, October 7, 2022 to link up your NND project using the colors above.

Here is my card to get you inspired.

Be thankful by Debbie features Framework, Frames & Flags, Autumn Newton, Pumpkin Latte, Autumn, and Fancy Edges Tag by Newton's Nook Designs; #inkypaws, #newtonsnook, #autumncards, #thankfulcards, #catcards, #cardmaking

My card was inspired by the gourd/pumpkin paper from the Autumn paper pad. I created the postage-edging using the Framework die set. I pulled polka-dotted paper from the same paper pad (Love how all the colors work together!) and cut the banners using the Frames & Flags die set. For the tag, I used the e Fancy Edges Tag die set and dry embossed a plaid pattern for some texture.  That cute kitty hiding behind his teal basket is from the Autumn Newton stamp set. To fill in the tag, I added leaves and a couple more pumpkins pulled from the Pumpkin Latte stamp set.  I added jute twine to give the card a touch of rustic charm.

This sketch works wonderfully with different pattern papers from the NND paper pads.  What will you decide to use?  Look forward to seeing your creativity with this sketch!

Inky Paws Challenge #182 Reminder

Come play with the fun colors at Inky Paws!

Use your NND products with the colors:

Orange, Green, Black, & Cream.

You gnome me so much by Debbie features Gnome Garden, Oval Frames, Clouds, Land Borders, and Sea Borders by Newton's Nook Designs; #inkypaws, #newtonsnook, #gnomecards, #cardmaking
When I first saw these colors, I was a bit unsure how to use them except for Halloween or an autumn scene, but I wanted to stretch myself and see what other products would look spectacular in them.
I decided on the very cute Gnome Garden stamp set. I love this little guy on his mushroom and looking at the butterflies.  I colored him in the challenge colors, and I then added the black gingham hills using the Sea Borders die sets. The grass was cut using the Land Borders die set.  I then decided to cut a scallop oval for my sky to peek through. I used the Oval Frames die set with the Clouds stencil.  A few more butterflies and a little lady bug were added for more fun.  I liked how this turned out especially in the unusual colors.  I hope I have inspired you to pull out a set of NND stamps and use the challenge colors with it.  I bet it will be amazing!

Inky Paws Challenge #182

Welcome to a new Inky Paws Challenge!

This challenge is a

Color Challenge.

Use the colors-Orange, Green, Black, & Cream.

You have until Friday, September 23, 2022 to link up your NND project using the colors above.

Here are my cards to inspire you.
When I first saw the Franken-Newton stamp set, I completely fell in love.
I love Halloween decorations and colors (just not the holiday!) and making Halloween cards!
So my cards today feature Franken-Newton and his lovely Bride with the sentiment "Made for Each Other."

I also used the picture frame stamp from the retiring Creepy Cameos stamp set.  (Be sure to grab your set for only $4.99!) With some masking, I stamped the portrait of Franken-Newton and his bride inside the picture frame.  Once colored, I set them aside and started working on the card base.  I wanted my card base to look like a wall, so I added some striped "wall paper" using paper from the Halloween Meows paper pad. I inked the carpet and wall trim on the base and then adhered the "wallpaper."

I cut all of this out with postage-edged stamp from the Framework die set. I then adhered the picture frame and stamped the sentiment.  My final touch was to add Franken-Newton (or his bride) to the scene looking up at their sweetie!

Made for each other by Debbie features Creepy Cameos, Franken-Newton, Framework, and Halloween Meows by Newton's Nook Designs; #inkypaws, #newtonsnook, #halloweencards, #catcards, #cardmaking

I just love how these turned out!  I also made a different version using purple "wallpaper."  It looked fabulous in that color too!  I can just see myself remaking this card in Valentine's Day colors!

Well, I hope you are inspired to join us.

Featured Guest at Newton's Nook Designs

This week Newton's Nook Designs has been featuring members of their Inky Paws Challenge team on their blog!  For the past four days the IPC Design Team members have been sharing inspiration using their favorite Newton's Nook Designs products. Today is my turn, and I couldn't be more excited!

For my card, I included two of my favorites--cats and coffee!  And since it's fall, I added a pumpkin-spice twist!  I started by die cutting two scallop-edged frames. The Kraft frame used the large scallop frame from the Frames & Flags die set. I cut the smaller frame using the scallop-edge die from Framework die set from a cream card stock that I distressed using Ranger Distress Oxide Vintage Photo ink.

I then added Newton (Newton's Crate stamp set) in his pumpkin-filled crate.  I colored him using a combination of Spectrum Noir and Copic markers. I then stamped and colored the caffeine-loving Newton from the Newton's Mug stamp set. I thought the muted teal color would look amazing with the overall neutral colors of orange and browns. I then added additional pumpkins (Pumpkin Latte stamp set) and an extra latte cup (Time for Coffee stamp set) as well as leaves and coffee beans.  I liked how this filled in the space between the two main images.  Next, I stamped the sentiment (Pumpkin Latte stamp set) on a distressed stitched circle (Frames Squared die set). I added a little leaf by the sentiment and added a bit of jute twine to finish the card.

Want to see what the other IPC Design Team members created this week?  Check out the NND Blog and while you are there, be sure to visit Newton's Nook Designs online shop to see the products I used today and find more favorites!

Thanks for stopping by!

Inky Paws Challenge #181 Reminder

There's still time to play with Inky Paws' current challenge.

Pumpkin spice and everything nice by Debbie features Newton Loves Coffee, Newton's Crate, Pumpkin Latte, Newton's Thanksgiving, Falling Leaves, Autumn, Circle Frames by Newton's Nook Designs; #inkypaws, #newtonsnook, #autumncards, #coffeecards, catcards, #cardmaking

One of my favorite aspects of Newton's Nook Designs' products is the ability to mix and match elements to create a very unique card that tells a story.  Such is the case of this week's card.  I started with Newton from the Newton's Crate stamp set just back from harvesting a batch of pumpkins.  Next we have Newton (Newton's Thanksgiving stamp set) with his tummy bulging from over indulging from treats made from those harvested pumpkins!  Set around him is a cup of pumpkin-spiced coffee (Newton Loves Coffee stamp set) and a slice of pumpkin pie (Newton's Thanksgiving stamp set).  To fill in the space between the two images, I used pumpkins from the Pumpkin Latte stamp set.  The sentiment (also from the Pumpkin Latte stamp set) is just perfect to pull all the elements together. I used the plaid paper from the Autumn paper pad with the scallop-edged frame from the Circle Frames die set.  For more texture, I distressed some yellow leaves using the Falling Leaves stencil. I love how this card turned out.  (Maybe next time I should add pumpkins on the card base instead of the leaves.  I forgot I owned the Jack-o-latern stencil! LOL!)

I hope I have inspired you to join us this week with your fall-themed card. I would love to see how you mix and match your NND products!

Inky Paws Challenge #181

A new Inky Paws Challenge begins today!

Use the theme-fall.

Want to win a $20 store credit to Newton's Nook Designs?  Then be sure to link up your NND fall card by Friday, September 9 for your chance!

May the colors of fall bring you a harvest of joy by Debbie features Autumn, Harvest Haul, and Falling Leaves by Newton's Nook Designs; #inkypaws, #newtonsnook, #autumncards, #fallcards, #cardmaking

A few years ago, I purchased a vintage sports car for my husband.  We now go to lots of car shows, and I have fallen in love with vintage trucks!  So when I saw the recently released Harvest Haul stamp set, I was beyond happy!  Of course, I had to showcase it for the Fall challenge.   (Be sure to check out the Inky Paws Challenge because two of my IPC teammates seem to have a fondness for vintage trucks too!)  I wanted to create a country, rustic feel to my card, so I went with a Kraft card base and used Vintage Photo Distress Oxide ink to subtly add falling leaves using the Falling Leaves stencil.  I colored the vintage truck in olive green Spectrum Noir markers. I added the burnt orange leaf print paper from the Autumn Paper Pad for more autumn colors.  A few added leaves were added as finishing touches!

Now it's your turn.  Link up your card to Inky Paws Challenge!

Here's my inspiration!

Happy Birthday by Debbie features Cycling Friends, Oval Frames, and Framework by Newton's Nook Designs; #inkypaws, #newtonsnook, #cardmaking, #catcards, #dogcards

I chose to use the Cycling Friends stamp set to create my card.  This set is so fun because you can choose what to put in the basket--presents, a kitten, balloons, flowers, and more!  I stamped the bicycle image several times and at different angles to create the background.  I then layered it with vellum and die cut using the postage-edge die from the Framework die set.  I added some enameled dots to hide the adhesive for the vellum.  I added a black oval using a die from the  Oval Frames die set.  For my horizontal striped element, I wrapped red/white twine around a couple of times.  At last, I stamped and fussy cut the bicycle and colored with Spectrum Noir and Copic markers.  I decided to use the birthday presents for the basket as I am always needing birthday cards.  I stuck with a red, white, black color scheme to give the card a more masculine look.  I loved how this turned out with the stamped image in the background.

I hope you will be inspired to join the Inky Paws Challenge using this sketch.  Don't have any Newton's Nook Designs products?  No worries.  You can use one of the free, digital images available here.

Here's my inspiration!

Paws-itive vibes by Debbie features Heart Frames, Heartfelt Meows, Banner Trio, and A Cat's Life by Newton's Nook Designs; #inkypaws, #newtonsnook, #catcards, #cardmaking
Since I own a gray cat (Catapult), I wanted a gray cat to be a central part of my card, so when I remembered the  Heartfelt Meows stamp set, I had to use it.  Now I could have a clowder of gray kittens adorning my card!  I added a pink and black bordering frames using the Heart Frames die set.  I needed to add more green, so I decided to use the green polka dotted paper from the A Cat's Life paper pad.  I cut my A2 card base a bit narrower, so my hearts would hang off and embossed with a polka dotted embossing folder.  I then added the paper at two corners for a bit of interest.  At last, I added the sentiment on the rounded-corner banner from the Banner Trio die set.  A fun, simpler card packed with so much feline cuteness!

Now it's your turn.  Link up at Inky Paws!
Hugs, Debbie

Inky Paws Challenge #177 Reminder

Be sure to ink up some NND and play with this fun IPC sketch!

Here'a a refresher.

Today I'm sharing some more inspiration!

Special delivery of fun & sun by Debbie features Newton's Perfect Waves, Sea Borders, Summer Moments, Tides of Love, Beach Bound, Banner Trio, and Clouds by Newton's Nook Designs; #inkypaws, #newtonsnook, #summercards, #beachcards, #catcards, #cardmaking
Today, I am sharing a beach scene filled with fun details from several stamp sets.  First, I used the Clouds stencil to make the yellow clouds, which contrast fabulously with the turquoise wavy water (Sea Borders die set).  Surfing that big wave is Newton from the Newton's Perfect Wave stamp set.  On the beach, you'll spy a red crab (Tides of Love stamp set), seashells (Summer Moments), and a pail of sand (Newton's Summer Vacation). I pulled the sentiment from the Beach Bound stamp set and stamped it on a banner die cut using the Banner Trio die set.

As you may remember, I used the sketch last week to make covers for mini-composition journals.  Here are two more that I whipped up.  They make for such fun birthday or just-because gifts!
This journal uses the Beach Bound stamp set and the Summertime paper pad.

I used the pair of flamingos from the Flirty Flamingo stamp set (retired) with some fun tropical and flamingo paper from my stash.

Hope you are inspired to use the sketch and join us at Inky Paws!
