Inky Paws Challenge #253 Week 4

Inky Paws Challenge #253

Week 4 Inspiration

Create a project with a friendship theme.

You have until Friday, June 26, 2026 (Midnight, CST) to play along. Each DT member will pick a favorite project to showcase, AND one RANDOM entry will win a $20 store credit to Newton's Nook Design online shop!

Inside:

I started my card by picking the sentiment from the Flamingo Flock stamp set, but decided I didn't really want to use it with flamingos. So I searched my stamp sets, and pulled out the Heartfelt Meows stamp set.  Bingo!  Surrounding one's self with furry kittens would definitely make one happy!  I stamped and cut it out using the Heart Frames die set. Now what?  I looked through my paper pads and decided the bright colors and fun patterns on the New Retro paper pack would work purr-fectly. So I pulled colors from the papers to shade the kitten accessories.  Then I looked through the Layout dies and decided on Card Layout 5.  I used scraps from the paper pads to make the little triangles. At last, I assembled everything except the sentiment.  I played around with how to adhere it to the front of the card. I tried it on a banner. I bubble cut around it.  Nothing was looking quite right. I really like seeing all the bright papers. Seriously, the inspiration of the card had to be on the card, so I chose to put it inside the card and leave the front without a sentiment.

Now it's your turn:

Unsubscribed From Monday

I am finally playing with some recently acquired products by Unity Stamps. I adore their coffee-themed images, and this rabbit doesn't disappoint. I also love their fun sentiments that capture my inner thoughts! In keeping with the softness of the paper, I lightly colored the image in similar colors of the paper. Thanks for stopping by!

Debbie

Relax & Enjoy

I really liked the Try It on Tuesday Sketch, and I wanted to combine it with a couple of challenges (see below) that requires "wings." I've been shopping my stash a lot lately. I pulled out the Rub-a-Dub-Dub set. These little ducks just make me smile. I remembered I had some rubber duck paper in a baby paper pack. I thought the two would look fun together, and guess what? They do!  I drew in the paneling, tile floor, and shelf. It was lots of fun to put it all together! Thanks for stopping by!

Debbie

Celebrate

Shaker cards are not my forte, but I can't get better if I don't try. I watched a video on how to use a little plastic bag for the shaker element. I looked at my meager collection of shaker "fillings" and found paper that would coordinate. Here's to making more shaker cards!

Deb's patriotic card features Happy 4th, Stars & Stripes, Circle Frames, Frames & Flags, and Newton's 4th of July by Newton's Nook Designs; #inkypaws, #newtonsnook, #cardmakingideas, #cardmaking, #cardchallenge, #friendshipcards, #nndstamps, #nndpapers, #patrioticcards
My card this week features some newly released products. I started by pulling 6 different papers from the Stars & Stripes paper pack. I cut the pieces out using the below sketch as my reference. I then used the Circle Frames dies to cut the silver circular element. I pulled the feline with his sparklers from the Newton's 4th of July stamp set. I colored him with Copic markers and fussy cut him out. I adhered him with dimensional foam tape. I cut a banner using the Frames & Flags die set and stamped the sentiment using the Happy 4th stamp set. A fun way to use patriotic products into a friendship card!

Now it's your turn:

I continue to have fun with the current Pink & Main sketch. This time I went with a Christmas theme using the same stamp set, but with different papers. You have to love stamps that can be used for multiple occasions!
