Inky Paws Challenge #252 Week 1

Inky Paws Challenge #252

Week 1 Inspiration

Use this sketch to create a card or project.

You have until Friday, May 29, 2026 (Midnight, CST) to play along. Each DT member will pick a favorite project to showcase, AND one RANDOM entry will win a $20 store credit to Newton's Nook Design online shop!

For the horizontal panel, I thought it would look great to make a shelf of books using the Bookmark II die set. Once I made a lot of different books out of scrap paper, I looked through my NND stamps to find one with books on it.  I haven't used Puppy's Reading List stamp set for some time. Once I had this planned, I pulled out the paw print paper from theA Dog's Life paper pad.  I assembled and adhered the back panel pieces. I tried lots of different ideas for the vertical panel--plain cardstock, different pattern papers--but the panel hid so many books that I had just spend time creating. I really didn't want to hide them, so I decided on vellum.  Keeping the with the reading theme, I again used the Bookmark II die set, but this time for the bookmark element. I cut the bookmark down to match the sketch. I added some twine at the top.  I used the banner die from the Frames & Flags die set with the yellow striped paper. The book and banner papers came from the Bright Basics (red) and the Pastel Basics (yellow) paper pads. I love how easy it is to mix and match papers in different sets to get exactly what you want. I love how this card turned out!

You have until Friday, May 1, 2026 (Midnight, CST) to play along. Each DT member will pick a favorite project to showcase, AND one RANDOM entry will win a $20 store credit to Newton's Nook Design online shop!

I used the TOP Inky Inspiration Sketch 41 to design this card. I create the circles using the Circle Frames die set. I pulled papers from the Pastel Basics paper pad with a coordinating circle behind. For my back panel, I embossed using the Petite Flowers stencil. For my focal point, I used the darling image from the Newton's Rain Boots stamp set. I colored with Copic markers and fussy cut it out. I assembled the card and added the sentiment from the Heartfelt Blooms stamp set

For this card, I wanted to make a bright, summery card with the challenge colors. I began by using the Hibiscus stencil with Distress Inks. I then cut the panel using the Frames and Flags die set to get the scallop-edging. I then used the Circle Frames die set to make the two circle elements using papers from the Pastel Basics paper pad and the Cheerful Brights Glitter Cardstock Assortment. I stamped and colored the image from the Aloha Newton stamp set with Copic markers. To finish the card I added the sentiment from the Newton's Happy Hour stamp set and the little cocktail.

Debbie's card features New Retro, Banner Trio, Birthday Roundabout, Circle Frames, and Coffee Delights by Newton's Nook Designs; #inkypaws, #newtonsnook, #cardmakingideas, #cardchallenge, #coffeelovers, #coffeecards, #birthdaycards, #nndpaper, #nndstamps
I wanted to use the New Retro paper pack using different themes. This week, I wanted to make a birthday card using this amazing black retro paper. I created the zigzag edging using the Frames & Tags die. I then stamped and Scan'n'Cut the coffee image from the Coffee Delights stamp set. I colored the different mugs in the challenge colors, which was so fun!  I was a bit stumped to how to make the stack of mugs stand apart from the paper. I finally decided to to create a bright yellow circle using the Circle Frames die set. I thought it looked best at the corner, so I used the zigzag die to cut part of the circle off.  I then made a pink banner using the Banner Trio die set and added a sentiment from the Birthday Roundabout stamp set. I added 3D foam to the stack to make it pop. Some bling finished it off. Not only do I love the bright colors, I also love the sharp angles of the paper with the circular patterns on some of the mugs. I just love how this turned out, and I can't wait to play with this paper pack with other themes and stamp sets.

The newly released Retro products work purr-fectly with this Month's colors! For my card, I selected 3 papers from the Newton's Mix Tape stamp set and used the Card Layout 4 die. I didn't want to hide the fun papers, so I die cut a vellum circle using the Circle Frames die set. Then I stamped, used my Scan'n'Cut, and colored the darling feline from the Newton's Mix Tape stamp set. I wanted to pull out more yellow, so I grabbed some scrap yellow card stock and stamped the sentiment from the Party On! stamp set.

Debbie's Easter card features Easter Egg Builder, Happy Easter die, Happy Easter paper pack, Cheerful Brights Glitter, Basic Frames by Newton's Nook Designs; #inkypaws, #newtonsnook, #cardmaking, #cardchallenge, #springcards, #eastercards

For my card, I started by water-coloring my paper in pastel colors. Once it was dry, I cut out the eggs using the Easter Egg Builder die set. I also cut out the egg designs using the same die set. I used glue to adhere the decorative fronts to the eggs. I then cut out the rectangular-stitched panel using the Basic Frames die set. I then played around with the arrangement of eggs and adhered. I selected the pink, basket-weave paper from the Happy Easter paper pack and cut it to 5 1/2"x4 1/4" and adhered on the card base. I then pulled out some scrap green glitter paper in the Cheerful Brights Glitter Cardstock Assortment and die cut it with the Happy Easter die set.

For my card this week, I created a distressed background. I then die cut a lattice using the
Lattice die. I adhered the lattice to the background. I stamped and colored the Easter image from the Newton's Easter Basket stamp set. I used my Scan 'n' Cut to cut it out, but a coordinating die is available. I used adhesive foam to adhere. I stamped the sentiment and mounted it to an orange glitter scrap from the Cheerful Brights Glitter Cardstock Assortment. I added a trio of gems to the lattice for a bit of glam. That's it. I really like how this card turned out, and I am finally getting better at distressing card backgrounds!  Yippee!

I have two cards today featuring papers from the Newton's Nook Designs
Cheerful Brights Glitter Cardstock Assortment and the Happy Easter paper pack. I used the NND Card Layout 6 die. By using the layout die, I was able to used all the elements of the die for two cards. I also used a light orange cardstock to create the frame for the first card as well as for the die cut sentiment using the NND Happy Easter die. For the bunnies, I used some scrap Kraft cardstock and cut out two bunnies using the Bunny Silhouettes die set. For the first bunny, I also cut out a bunny tail using felt.  The second bunny's tail is a little pom pom. I love how both cards turned out. The first one is super shiny with mostly glitter paper, but the other one is so cute with the majority of the card with the carrots.

I hope I've inspired you to come join us!

I used the newly released  Card Layout 6 die with papers from the Happy Easter paper pack. I selected the small floral print because I wanted to use the image from the Newton's Blooms stamp set. I used Copic markers to color image making sure that the flowers match the ones in the paper. I wanted to add some bling to the card, so I used the Card Layout 6 die again to cut the blue glitter paper from the Cheerful Brights Glitter Cardstock Assortment. I wanted a sentiment that wasn't too specific to spring and found one I like from the Hyacinth stamp set. I used the  Circle Frames die set to cut a stitched circle from white card stock as well as orange glitter paper. I stamped the sentiment and added the little butterfly to add a pop of color.  The new Card Layout 6 die made designing this card quite easy, and I think it will be quickly become a favorite.

I hope I've inspired you to come join us!

Inky Paws Challenge #249 Week 4

Inky Paws Challenge

Final Week

Use this month's sketch with your NND products.

You have until Friday, February 27, 2026 (Midnight, CST) to play along. Each DT member will pick a favorite project to showcase, AND one RANDOM entry will win a $20 store credit to Newton's Nook Design online shop!

While going through my stamps, I realized that I'd never used the dog image from the Pumpkin Tails stamp set. I colored the puppies similar to the dogs on the paper from the Autumn Woofs  stamp set.  Since the puppy image was rather long, I decided to squish the sketch to make a horizontal card.  I opted to go with the polka dotted paper from the  Autumn Basics paper pads. I created a dark brown frame around each panel using my Mini Perfect Layers tool. I adhered everything and then stamped the sentiment. I loved the horizontal format of this sketch and how this card came out.  It was quite fun to make an "out-of-season" card.  Now it's your turn!

I hope my card has brighten your day!

It's been sunny here which inspired this fun card using the sunshine paper as well as the yellow polka dotted paper from the  Summertime paper pad. I then added the blue glitter panel using paper form the Cheerful Brights Glitter Cardstock Assortment. My star attraction is the darling feline from the Newton's Happy Meowr stamp set.

I hope my card has brighten your day!
