Graduation Card--Tuesday Trigger--A Polka Dotted Hullabaloo
Moxie Fab's Tuesday Trigger--A Polka Dotted Hullabaloo
and Our Craft Lounge Challenge
Polka dots--how fun! I was inspired to use shades of blues with splashes of red from the Trigger. I just stumbled across Our Craft Lounge and really liked the sketch for their challenge. The sketch inspired me to create a card that doesn't open. Instead, you lift the front and pull out a nice congrats surprise! I used Up, Up and Away by Kaiser Craft to stamp of the craft card stock.
Though at first glance this card may not look exceptional, but I put a lot of thought to many of the elements. I think what I am teaching in school is rubbing off on my card making. I'm currently teaching about patriotic symbolism, so I incorporated symbolism into my card. Here goes: There is so much happening for a new graduate--it's a time to explore, seek new adventures, yet a time to pause a moment and reflect on the breathtaking accomplishments already achieved. The hot air balloon (can't find source) represents cutting lose of strings--high school, childhood, parents. The graduate has a new freedom with no bounds. The polka dotted paper (DCWV) had a spiraling like pattern that made me think of how a person's world is so small at birth, but as a person ages the world gets bigger as new ideas, new people, new interests are developed. The horizontal lined paper (DCWV) represents milestones--high school, college, marriage, parenthood, career, etc.
Thanks for stopping by!
