Any excuse to play with kitty stamps, especially Newton, truly makes me happy. This card features Newton (from Summer Vacation) taking a little cat nap. I wanted to pull in a palm tree, so I trimmed off the umbrella and replaced it with a palm tree from Your Next Stamp. I was trying to capture the colors and feel of the NND inspiration photo, so I stamped and embossed the palm tree with black on black paper. Then I used Distress ink to capture the colors of the sunset (sunrise?). I had planned to adhere the tag on the white card stock, but it looked a bit plain, so I embossed the white with a waves embossing folder to add a bit of dimension and movement to the card. I heat embossed the sentiment on vellum. I then added a bow and sequins (Winnie and Walter) for a bit of bling!
Challenges I am entering this card in:

ReplyDeletePS relink up your card. The original link did not go directly to this post, it came up as an error. I searched your blog to find the post. I don't want you to miss out on a chance to win :>)
Super cute, your cool kitty... he really looks like he's having a great time relaxing :). The colors are beautiful and would be great for the current CIC too.
