Create a project using this sketch!
Here's my inspiration!
In late July, the newly formed Seattle hockey team announced their mascot--the kraken! Not only did I think it was a fabulous and fun mascot, but I immediately remembered that Newton's Nook Designs had a kraken image that would be perfect to use for cards and rocks! Then I realized I didn't own this set! How had that happened? I immediately placed my order for the Message in the Bottle stamp and die set. Thank heaven Jen still had this in stock because it is retiring with limited supplies on hand. (Be sure to get yours order soon before they are gone forever!).
For my card, I decided to create a little scene using the portholes from the Slimline Frames & Portholes die set. I began by distressing my background using Peacock feathers Distress Oxide ink and going over it using the Waves stencil. I then stamped multiple krakens and boat images from the Message in a Bottle stamp and die set. I colored them all before trimming them to make the three scenes. I then used the sentiment "Let's get kraken!" on a mini banner using the Frames & Flags die set . I added some enameled drops to the banner. My final touch is the little anchor with it's bit of jute.
My next project will be stamping the kraken in the bottle on rocks and painting them. I can't wait to hide them throughout the Puget Sound area to help celebrate and welcome our new hockey team!
Now it's your turn to use the sketch and NND products! Link up at Inky Paws Challenge #129. One lucky participant will win a $20 store credit to NND! Will it be you? Good luck!
Hugs,
Debbie
