This card was inspired by my cats' never ending need for food! Imagine that! Velcro, especially, is food fixated. Every morning, he wakes me up by pawing me in the face or nipping my nose, so he can show me his food dish, which does have food in it. He just needs to show me! Later in the morning, he starts meowing at my husband and me. We have to follow him to look at his dish at least 10 more times throughout the day! It's quite comical, except for the nose nips!
For this card, I used some beloved Paper Smooches products to build this grocery store scene. In the cart, there are lots of cans of cat food. I made it so the cans inside the card move around. The little bit of pattern paper is from Echo Park.
Challenges:
Die cut--shopping cart, Dad's Day card
2-Die Cut Element --cart
3. Paper from my ever growing stash of scraps!
Hope cat food counts!
Thanks for stopping by and checking out my cats' Father's Day card!
Hugs,
Debbie

Indy, I love your card with the cat food theme! Your cat's name is hysterical. Great job with your choice of pattern papers and coloring. Thank you so much for sharing Velcro and his Father's Day card for his "dad" with us at Try A Sketch on Tuesday!!! -Donna
ReplyDeleteA wonderful card and very whimsical. Love the cats name, I hope you realize that by indulging in his demand to show you, you are reinforcing the behaviour LOL. Good choice of paper and your colouring is great. Thanks for sharing at Double Trouble, Johanna
ReplyDeleteThis card made me smile! Your story about Velcro is hilarious, and I think every cat owner can relate to a pet who acts as though the food bowl is completely empty. I especially love that the cans move around—that interactive element adds even more fun and personality. Thank you for sharing your wonderful project with us at Cut It Up!
ReplyDeletewhat a great idea to have the cans move around in your shopping card... creative and fun interactive card. The image and story of your cat habits make me smile. I am also a cat lover and my cat always meows to let me know she has enjoyed her milk snack and then walks away.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun design, Debbie! Thank you for joining in the Crafty Calendar Challenge this month.

This card is so cute!!! I love that the register is where is says dad and the cute kitty happy about the full cart of groceries. The story about your cat needing you to see his food dish is hilarious! I could watch cat videos and listen to stories about them all day! lol. I especially love his name "velcro"! Thanks for playing with us at Double Trouble! :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute little scene ... and story! lol I knew that was a Paper Smooches cat - I have that set! :-) My small parrot lets me know morning, noon & dinner that it's time for his cookie (walnut piece) and doesn't shut up until he gets it!! lol Thank you for sharing at Double Trouble.
ReplyDeleteHello, Indy!!! Yes, I accept cat food/pet food because it's included in most grocery stores and convenience marts to help out busy pet parents! Such a fun idea for a Father's Day personalized card!! I should have done one for my hubby from our doggy because Mister Bennett goes to my hubby Joe when he wants treats. Ben comes to me for most of his outdoor needs and for his meals. He is also my protector! But Joe's the treats provider! Thanks so much for sharing this cute card with FarmQuest Grocery Game Challenges!!!
