Happy Cake Day

 

I'm sharing a fun birthday card featuring lots of festive fun.  I used Newton's Nook Designs' Frames & Flags die set to create the scallop edging using NND's Birthday Party paper pad. I created a vellum hexagon using NND Hexagon Frames die set. The birthday kitty is the NND Newton Loves Cake stamp set. At last, I stamped the sentiment on the little ticket die cut from the NND Framework die set.

My card uses the NND Holiday Foliage stencil for the background. Then I attempted to use the no-line coloring technique for my Newton. I then die two tags--one from vellum and one from cardstock to add a bit of dimension to my card. I used nontraditional colors to make this fun holiday card. Using lime green and pinks, I used Newton's Curious Christmas and Sentiments of the Seasons stamp set. I love the touch of vellum and the golden accents.

I used Distress Inks to create the background. I used copper foiled paper for the backing.  I embossed the sentiment and pineapple (NND's Pineapple Delight) in copper. The twine also has a copper thread woven into to tie it all together.

Mother Day Cupcake Idea

For my card, I used Garden Whimsy from Newton's Nook Designs, one of our regular sponsors.  I just adore this sweet little bunny.  This set is retiring and is only $8.99!  Be sure to pick your set up before it's too late!  After die cutting the image, I decided on a gingham background. I was inspired by those dark, rich colors, so I created a background using Distress inks. Tag You're It-Guest Designer

I was fortunate winner of the Tag-You're It! Challenge #64 and was asked to be their guest designer for Challenge #66.  Here is the amazing inspiration tag:

And here is my interpretation of the tag. I used Newton's Nook Designs' Beautiful Blossoms and Newton's Summer Vacation. The flowers were colored with Spectrum Noir markers with a touch of sparkly gel pen. Distress Ink was used to stamp the leaves before adding the flowers with some foam tape. I finished it off with some twine.

It's time to announce another Inky Paws Challenge!

Here's my card to inspire you!

I just loved these soft colors. I started using embossing paste and a stencil. Once the paste was dry, I used distress inks to add the background colors. I then stamped the black and white stripe and added a strip of black card stock.  I used Newton's Nook Designs' Magical Dreams. I colored this darling dragon with Spectrum Noir markers and added some sparkle with a gel pen. I then die cut the heart--NND's Darling Hearts Die Set. I finished it off by using my label maker to make the sentiment.

For my card I stamped the raccoon image then masked it.  I then watercolored the background and colored the image with Prismacolor pencils, I embossed a strip, cut some banners, and assembled everything.

I colored these sweet Dachshunds from 

 Darling Duos with Spectrum Noir colored pencils and used the coordinating die Darling Hearts Die Set. I pulled out some Valentine's theme paper to create several coordinating layers. The final touch is a sweet button for a touch of texture. I can't wait to give this away on Valentine's Day!

I loved coloring this puppy image from Your Next Stamp, so this is the second card today featuring her!  This time I colored the image with Spectrum Noir colored pencils on kraft paper. I am so excited to announce that I will be a lead for Newton's Nook Designs Inky Paws Challenge!  The other lead is the very talented Jess Gerstner.  Together we will be coordinating, not one, but two monthly challenges for Newton's Nook Designs!  I absolutely adore NND stamps and dies, so to be part of the team is a dream come true.
