Inky Paws Challenge #108

This biweekly challenge is a:

Sketch Challenge

Create a project using the sketch.

You have until  Friday, October 18, 2019 at Midnight CST for a chance to win a $20 store credit to Newton's Nook Designs!

Here's my inspiration!

My mom and I have been having a "flamingo war" for the past couple of years.  My mom isn't particularly fond of those 1950s plastic pink flamingos and has decided she doesn't like flamingos. She's been giving me grief about my metal pink flamingos in my yard for years.  Last Christmas, I sent her a flamingo jigsaw puzzle, flamingo socks, and hand-crafted flamingo ornament. Therefore, for my recent birthday, she sent me flamingo dish towels with flamingo buttons, a flamingo beach towel, and flamingo cocktail stirrers!  They were absolutely darling and I love them.  In "retaliation," I've decided I would get her back with flamingo cards for the next few months.  Fortunately for me, Newton's Nook Designs has so many darling flamingo stamp sets!  So for October, here's my mom's flamingo-themed Halloween card!  (Stay tuned for a Thanksgiving flamingo card!)

Trick of Treat by Debbie features Flamingo Flock, Spooky Skeletons, Fancy Edges Tag, and Frames & Flags by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook
I opted for traditional orange and black, not pink for this card. I started with a black card base and added an orange-scalloped edge frame using the  Frames & Flags die set.  I then white embossed the flamingos from the Flamingo Flock stamp set, fussy cut around them before adhering to the orange frame. I added another orange-scalloped strip with a black banner using the Frames & Flags die set again. For the tag, I used the Fancy Edges Tag die set and added an orange scalloped strip at the top as well as some twine. I stamped the sentiment from the  Spooky Skeletons stamp set.  To pull the elements together, I stamped the flamingo skeleton from the  Spooky Skeletons stamp set.  I added a few sequins to finish it off.  Ta-da!  A flamingo card for my mom!
(I'm sure she will be tickled "pink" when she receives it!  LOL)

Now it's your turn to make a project using the above sketch.
Hope you will have as much fun creating it as I did!
Hugs,
Debbie
