Happy 6th Birthday

My grandson will be turning 6 this year, so I decided to make his card a bit early. I was inspired (again) by the Red Studio Carpet "The Iron Giant" challenge. I pulled out an old stamp set (Recollections) that I haven't used in ages, but like too much to de-stash.  I embossed(wheels & gears) the background and used some Echo Park paper with more gears. I used some Paper Smooches' dies and birthday sentiment. I assembled it all together!

Lia Stampz Challenge 88- Embossing (dry or heat)

Mash it Up! and create a project using your Favorite Retired Stamp set and the Sketch

Theme:  Kids  Stash: Primary things ( paper, embellishments)
I used my stash of paper, buttons, and ribbon

Hello--Alien Robot

This card features stamps and dies from Paper Smooches:  Word Salad, Little Fella, Space Cadet, and Super 2 Dies. I water colored the background before adhering the black city scape. Then I stamped and colored the Earth on vellum then added some glittery stars. The alien robot was colored. Then I added Crackle Accents. I stamped the sentiment.  For the background, I embossed a piece of Black Magic by core'dinations.  I then distressed it to get the lavender to show through. The final touches were more stars and a bit of ribbon and twine. Thanks for stopping by to visit! ~D

Good Luck Newton

I wasn't really planning on making a St. Patrick's Day card, but then I found some challenges that I just had to play.  Red Carpet Studio is spotlighting "The Lucky One" which is one of my new favorite romantic comedies. (Zac Efron is definitely eye candy in this one!)  I found another great sketch from The Friday Mashup's 200th challenge celebration.  This sketch worked perfectly with the shamrocks (a $1 purchase from JoAnn's) and Newton and his wagon (Newton's Nooks Designs).  Then I added some sparkly gold paper (DCWV) that I recently purchased 50% at JoAnn's.  I also found other great challenges with a St. Patty's theme and/or glitter stamp; sparkle. (All of them are listed below.) I'm loving how this card turned out!  Thanks for stopping by and Happy St. Patrick's Day!  Debbie
