Enjoy the Summer

 I have a summer CAS card showcasing this darling pig from Gerda Steiner Designs Pool Piggies stamp set. I used this fun watery paper (source unknown).  I tried to make the background look like a pool with the little grayish border around the watery paper. Its' super simple, but I really liked how this turned out.

Inky Paws Challenge #238 Week 2

 

 Welcome to Inky Paws'  

March Challenge!

For March, we have a spring theme to play with!

You have four weeks to get creative with showers and flowers using your NND Products!

You have from Friday, March 28, 2025 (Midnight, CST) to play along. One random participant will receive a $20 store credit to Newton's Nook Designs!

I began by using the Quatrefoill stencil with Shabby Shutter Distress Oxide ink.  I trimmed the panel to 4 x 5 1/4 inches and adhered to the white card base.  I then used the A7 Frames & Banners die set to create the three stitched panels.  I stamped two panels with the flower image from the Hyacinth stamp set.  I colored these with different shades of lavender Copic Markers.  I then decided to stamp the flower image on the third panel using Kitsch Flamingo Distress Oxide ink.  I decided not to color this image.  I then cut out the hexagonal panels-one from white card stock and one from vellum.  I stamped the sentiment on the smaller, white one and framed it with the vellum one.  I decided to add the bit of jute twine to give the card a bit of texture.  I thought this card turned out pretty well. I love the different colored hyacinths!

Ridin' Into Another Year

This card was also inspired by the sketch challenge at Sunday Stamps.

I really like the sketch, and I ALWAYS need birthday cards which inspired me to join  the AAA Birthday Challenge again!

I started by embossing waves (source unknown) on my card base.  I used papers from the Newton's Nook Designs' Summertime paper pad with the coordinating VW bug stamp from the Beach Bound stamp set. In addition, I used die sets from NND:  Frames & Flags and Heart Frames.  A super fun sketch that works wonderfully with coordinating papers and stamps!

Today's craft session was all about Halloween cards!  I am still playing with my new Boo Crew stamps from Newton's Nook Designs.  I've been digging through my very old stash of Halloween paper.  I so want to buy some new pads, but I have so much just sitting there!   

In case you are not aware, Cupcake Inspirations Theme Challenge this week is Story Time!  The first time I saw this vampire bunny I was reminded of the book, Bunnicula.  It is one of my favorite children's chapter books.  Chester, the cat, is convinced that the new bunny the family brought home is a vampire! Have a stamp that reminds you of a book?  Be sure to join us this week!
