NND--Enjoy the Day

Today's card features Newton watching a sunrise over the Atlantic awaiting a day of fun at the beach OR relaxing after a day of fun and watching a sunset over the Pacific.  To make this card, I sketched the scene and then water colored it.  I traced it in black gel pen. I wasn't totally thrilled, so I used a sparkly gel pen over the waves and sunset to add a bit of glimmer.  For the clouds, I retraced with a white gel pen to soften the black.  For Newton and his beach accessories, I stamped and fussy cut.  Then shaded with Spectrum Noir markers. I stamped the sentiment and attached the sequins and my fussy cuts.  I punched the corners of the blue card stock and adhered my scene.  At last I attached everything to the base.  So no matter if this is a sunset or sunrise, Newton is having the time of his life at the beach!

Not Feline Well?

My new Newton's Nook Designs stamps arrived in the mail yesterday! (Thanks, Jen, for such fast service!) For this card I used Newton's Sick Day and used several stamps to create the background. I then stamped and fussy cut Newton who was colored with Sprectrum Noir colored pencils. Afterwards, I cut the banner and half circle using Echo Park paper.  The rectangular banner was cut, distressed, and stamped.  Using some foam tape, I adhered everything. the finishing touch was to add some sequins (Cupcake Inspirations).  Now all I have to do is wait for someone to get sick!  (Just kidding!)  ~Debbie

Need to Venti?

I just happen to buy this coffee-themed embossing folder the other day...okay, I made a special trip to Hobby Lobby because Tim Holtz products were on sale.  I just had to own it!  While I was there, I found these wooden speech bubbles on clearance for $1.50!  No way I could turn that deal down!  To make the card, I pulled out Paper Smooches' Hot Concoctions for my latte cups.  I wanted to add some faces so I used elements from Giddy Gumdrops (glasses, bow) and Swanky Snowdudes (mustache and lips).  I used the ribbon (love those dots) and then added some dots to finish off the card.  I am just loving the silliness of this card. Thanks for stopping by!  ~Debbie

Hey Sugar!

I purchased some coffee-themed products over the weekend, so I got in the mood to make coffee cards.  This card features some dino friends sharing a latte.  I thought it would be fun if one of the friends brought a bit of sugar to the party!  ~Debbie

CIC318--Doodle Pantry--Fluffy Kitty

Hello and welcome to a new color challenge at Cupcake Inspirations. We have a great sponsor: Doodle Pantry.  For those who know me well, know I have a fondness for cat images!  When I saw this incredible image (Shaggy Cat), I knew I had to have it and to color it so it looks like my very own "Princess" Catapult. I wanted to give the chair a velvet-y look. I used my Sprectrum Noir colored pencils. I am still working on my ability to color and blend with these pencils, so I am not completely happy with the chair, but the cat turned out pretty well. (See below to see a real picture of Catapult!)  Doodle Pantry has lots of fun images, so be sure to check out their website and also join Cupcake Inspirations for your chance to win!  ~Debbie

Hey GILL-friend

I wanted to slip in one more card for Paper Smooches--Anything Goes SPARKS challenge. This card  features Surf and Turf. I was inspired by the photo inspiration from A Blog Named Hero.   ~Debbie

A Blog Named Hero Photo Inspiration Challenge

You're Swell

Today's card features a beach scene inside a fish bowl. I used Paper Smooches' Surf and Turk and Wicked Nauticool. To the card base, I embossed waves. Then I stamped the fish bowl on water color paper and created a sunset over the ocean. Then I stamped the sailboat, crab, and sentiment and also used water colors. After fussy cutting, I used 3D foam tape to add dimension. I added twine for a finishing touch. Thanks for stopping by!  ~Debbie
