Inky Paws Challenge #139--Cozy Winter Theme

Inky Paws Challenge

Theme Challenge--Cozy Winter

Inky Paws is starting the 2021 year with a fabulous theme challenge!  There are so many fun winter stamp sets and stencils from Newton's Nook Designs to play with!

Here's my inspiration!

Winter is better together by Debbie features Frosty Friends, Frames Squared, Festive Forest die, Forest Scene Builder by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook, #cardmaking, #inkypaws

I adore the children's book,  Snowmen at Night, by Cara Buehner and illustrated by her husband, Mark Buehner.  When I lived in Utah, I was lucky to get to meet the Buehners when they came to my school to celebrating writing.  Such amazing and talented people!  I adore their books, especially their Snowmen ones!  Here's a picture of one of the pages:

Combine the challenge theme, my love of this book, and NND's Frosty Friends stamp set and you'll understand how I came up with the idea for this card!

My snowmen from the Frosty Friends stamp set are enjoying a snowy night around a campfire.  I added some trees to my snowy background using the  Festive Forest and the Forest Scene Builder die sets. I used the  the Frames Squared die set to create the scallop-edged frame.

I hope I have inspired you to create a project using your NND products and the challenge theme.  You have until  Friday, January 15, 2021 (midnight CST).  One lucky participant will be randomly chosen to win a $20 store credit to NND!

Happy crafting!

Inky Paws Challenge #138 and Cupcake Inspirations Challenge #508 Reminder

Haven't made your NND  or Cupcake Inspiration card yet?

No worries.  You still have time!

Create a project using the Inky Paws Sketch

and/or

Colors from the Cupcake Inspirations Challenge.

I combined the challenges to make this sweet holiday card:

I pulled out some older pattern papers and found the deer paper, so I started with this paper and designed everything else around it!  (I guess that is one way to work around a creative block!)  Looking through my Newton's Nook Designs stamps, I decided on the  Festive Fawns stamp set.  I colored the presents in shades of blue.  I then pulled out some coordinating papers in blue and used both the  Frames & Flags and the Circle Frames die sets.  If you peek closely, the smallest circle is from last week's laminated pouch with glitter inside.  I used some jute twine and silver dots for final touches.

Now it's your turn!

If you use the Inky Paws sketch,  you could be the lucky winner of a $20 gift voucher to Newton's Nook Designs.  Link up at Inky Paws Challenge!

If you use Shades of Blue, be sure to link up at Cupcake Inspirations!

Both Inky Paws and Cupcake Inspirations challenges end on  Friday, December 18, 2020.

Inky Paws 138 & Cupcake Inspirations Challenge #508

Ready to get your "paws" inky?

Inky Paws  and Cupcake Inspirations have a new challenge starting today!

Here's my inspiration!

Feline Frosty by Debbie features Newton's Snowman, Speech Bubbles, and Framework by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook, #winter, #cardmaking
I tried out my new Gelli pad using blue paints and then adding the Snowfall stencil with a layer of white paint on top.  The result is a subtle snowy background which I really love!  I then used a laminated pouch and added silver and light blue glitter with some silver dots.  Once laminated, I cut a strip out.  I die cut my snowy layer using the postage-edged die from the Framework die set. I cut out a section and adhered my laminated strip.  Behind that, I added a royal blue foil card stock.  I love how it looks like it's lightly snowing. My main attraction are those frisky felines building their "snowman!"  These sweet felines are from the Newton's Snowman stamp set, and they just make me smile!  I added the sentiment on a speech bubble die cut using the Speech Bubbles die set to represent one of the sketch circles.  For the other sketch circles, I added two large silver snowflakes. I added some gems to the snowflakes as well as Stickles for the buttons and balls on the hats.

If you use Shades of Blue, be sure to link up at Cupcake Inspirations!

If you use the Inky Paws sketch,  you could be the lucky winner of a $20 gift voucher to Newton's Nook Designs.  Link up at Inky Paws Challenge!

Inky Paws Challenge #137

Haven't made your NND card yet?

No worries.  You still have time!

Create a project using the colors:

Lime Green, Grass Green, Red, White

Here's my inspiration:

Merry & Bright by Debbie features Newton's Home for Christmas, Sentiment of the Season, Plaid, Slimline Frame & Windows, and Slimline
I made a fun Christmas card using the challenge colors.  I combined the Slimline Frames & Windows and the Slimline Frames & Porthole die sets to create the frames in red and lime green. I used the Plaid stencil to create a panel which I die cut to fit the outer windows. I added a banner in the center window with the "Merry & Bright" sentiment from the  Sentiments of the Season stamp set. Two Winston images from the Winston's Home for Christmas stamp set were colored with Spectrum Noir markers and popped up with dimension tape. Nothing super fancy for this card, but I really like how it turned up!  Hope you will join us soon!

Now it's your turn to create a project using the challenge colors and using your Newton's Nook Designs stamps, dies, and/or stencils.  Be sure to link it up at Inky Paws Challenge.

Cupcake Inspirations has a new theme challenge to whet your whistle and inspire your creativity.

For this fortnight we have a theme challenge. Here is this challenge's cupcake!

My card features a yummy candy cane!

Happy Holidays by Debbie features Newton's Candy Cane by Newton's Nook Designs; #newtonsnook, #cupcakeinspirations, #cardmaking

I started by embossing the card base with a vertical embossing folder.  I then die cut several black border frames using dies from Frames & Flags and Framework die sets by Newton's Nook Designs.  I then made the clear panel by taking a laminating pouch and sprinkling some red glitter inside it.  I then ran it through my laminating machine.  I die cut it with the Frames & Flags scallop-edged die.  I sandwiched this panel between the black border frames.  This was adhered to the base with dimension tape.  The sweet, but naughty, kitten is from NND's Newton's Candy Cane stamp set.  I colored with Spectrum Noir markers and fussy cut it out.  I placed the candy cane over the twine and adhered with more 3D tape.  I added a twine bow to finish it off.  For the sentiment, I added a black banner (Frames & Flags die set) and heat embossed the sentiment in white.  This sentiment is from NND's Christmas Roundabout stamp set.  Again I used 3D tape to make it pop.  A couple of sequins finished it off.  This was my first attempt using laminating pouches, and I'm excited to try different products inside them.  I love the idea of a clear panels or a clear card!

Hope you will link up at Cupcake Inspirations!  You have until, Friday, December 4, 2020.

Happy Crafting!

Lime Green, Grass Green, Red, White

I know I'm a cat lady, but this sweet puppy won my heart. I just had to use him for this challenge. My circle card base was made by die cutting using the Circle Frames die set. I then stamped the festive holiday image from the Christmas Roundabout stamp set. I used my Prisma Color pencils on this one.  I added the puppy from the Christmas Puppies stamp set. and embossed the sentiment on a black strip.  I can't wait to use the other puppies in this set.  Then it will be all about the kitties in the A Kitten Christmas stamp set!

Create a project using your favorite stamp set!

Here's my card to inspire you!

So I am not good at picking out just one favorite sets!  I love the fawn images from Newton's Nook Designs, but couldn't decide which one was my favorite favorite, so I decided to create a holiday card featuring a fawn from each season using the "Season's Greetings" sentiment to pull it all together!  To fit all the images, I made a a 5 1/4" x 5 1/4' card with a wood grain layer die cut using the Frames Squared  die set.  I heat embossed the sentiment from the the Ornamental Wishes stamp set in white on a black card base.  The sweet fawn images are from the Festive Fawns, the Woodland Spring, the Woodland Picnic, and the Harvest Tails stamp sets. I added a few sequins for a bit of sparkle and red & white twine for an extra dose of holiday spirit!

Now it's your turn to create a project using the challenge colors and using your Newton's Nook Designs stamps, dies, and/or stencils.  Be sure to link it up at Inky Paws Challenge.

Inky Paws Challenge #136

Ready to get your "paws" inky?

Inky Paws has a new challenge starting today!

Theme Challenge

Create a project using your favorite

Newton's Nook Designs stamp set!

Here's my inspiration!

Merry Christmas features Newton's Curious Christmas, Slimline

Picking my favorite Newton's Nook Designs stamp set is really an impossible task.  I won my first NND stamp set (Newton's Holiday Mischief stamp set) in February 2013.  I was immediately hooked and have grown my collection to nearly every set!  To narrow down my favorite set, I knew it had to be cats!  Then I decided I needed more Christmas cards, so I combined the Newton's Curious Christmas and the Santa Paws Newton stamp set. I used the Slimline Frames & Portholes die set to have room to establish the kitten on the rooftop awaiting a glimpse of Santa.  Then the scene changes to the Santa sliding down the chimney with the last panel with Santa pulling presents out of his back.  If there had been room, you would have seen Newton fast asleep on his blanket (Newton's Naptime) and then him opening presents (Newton's Birthday Bash). But, alas, I ran out of room.  I used banner from the Frames & Flags die set with the sentiment from the Newton's Christmas Kittens stamp set.

I hope my card has inspired you to join this challenge using these yummy colors.  You have until  Friday, November 20, 2020 at Midnight CST.  One lucky participant will be the winner of a $20 gift voucher to Newton's Nook Designs!
