CIC335--Newton's Nooks Designs

Welcome to a new week with a fabulous challenge and sponsor! Newton's Nook Designs is our fabulous sponsor for our Layers challenge!  For those you know me, you are probably shocked that I used a bunny instead of a kitty, but how cute is this fun bun?  He is from the Garden Whimsy set.  For your chance to win a prize from Newton's Nook Designs be sure to link up at Cupcake Inspirations!

Paper--from my never shrinking stash.
Plastic bag--I used my new We R Memory Fuse tool and a plastic page protector.  I created a small bag by fusing three sides.  I added some fall colored sequins (Dollar Tree...seriously!) before fusing the top.  (Looks like a need a bit more practice as I noticed the top wasn't quite parallel to the bottom!)

CIC324--My Grafico

http://www.mygrafico.com/

Hello everyone!  For those who started school this past week, I hope all is well and you've survived!  I must admit I am still recovering, but I am loving my new third graders...all 54 of them!  Now onto this week's colors for Cupcake Inspirations--orange, lavender, and jade!  At first I wasn't so sure, but once I embraced them, I totally fell in love!  (Hopefully you will too and join us this week!)  We have a super fun sponsor--My Grafico!

Details:
Image--My Grafico--Tropical Birds
Sentiment--Paper Smooches
Markers--Spectrum Noir
Ribbon--from Michael's
Dots--?

As this is a CAS card, the steps for making this was pretty straight forward.  I cut the base card and a slightly smaller rectangle. I embossed three vertical lines.  I added the ribbon and stamped the sentiment.  I then stamped the image and colored it with Spectrum Noir markers.  I adhered the rectangle to the base with dimension foam tape.  To finish it off, I added the image with more 3D foam and added the dots.

CIC323--KennyK

It's a super fun week at Cupcake Inspirations---it's all about GLAM!  We have a returning sponsor--KennyK!  I love KennyK's sassy and unique images!  The image I used is Drama Queen.  I just love her with her fashionable clothes and chic haircut!  For your chance to win some KennyK images, be sure to link up to CIC's Glam challenge!

To glam up my image, I colored her with Spectrum Noir markers.  Then I added some flocking to her jacket to give it a stylish texture.  I added Glossy Accents to glam up her lips.  The purse and phone have silver Stickles added.   I picked this DCWV paper because of all the silver accents.  (I've had this paper for years, and I can't believe I hardly ever use it.  I mean look at all that sparkle!  Seriously adds some fun glam to the card!) I heat embossed the sentiment and added a couple of sparkly layers. To add some dimension, I used some sticky foam behind the image.

Have a Super Year

School starts in a couple of weeks, so I made this card for my coworker who is the Chinese teacher for our Dual Language Immersion program.  This is my first year as the English Language Arts teacher for the DLI program.  I will be working very closely with her since we share 54 students.  My classroom theme is Superheroes, so I decided to make her a fun superhero card to get her year off to a good start!

NND--Enjoy the Day

Today's card features Newton watching a sunrise over the Atlantic awaiting a day of fun at the beach OR relaxing after a day of fun and watching a sunset over the Pacific.  To make this card, I sketched the scene and then water colored it.  I traced it in black gel pen. I wasn't totally thrilled, so I used a sparkly gel pen over the waves and sunset to add a bit of glimmer.  For the clouds, I retraced with a white gel pen to soften the black.  For Newton and his beach accessories, I stamped and fussy cut.  Then shaded with Spectrum Noir markers. I stamped the sentiment and attached the sequins and my fussy cuts.  I punched the corners of the blue card stock and adhered my scene.  At last I attached everything to the base.  So no matter if this is a sunset or sunrise, Newton is having the time of his life at the beach!

Not Feline Well?

My new Newton's Nook Designs stamps arrived in the mail yesterday! (Thanks, Jen, for such fast service!) For this card I used Newton's Sick Day and used several stamps to create the background. I then stamped and fussy cut Newton who was colored with Sprectrum Noir colored pencils. Afterwards, I cut the banner and half circle using Echo Park paper.  The rectangular banner was cut, distressed, and stamped.  Using some foam tape, I adhered everything. the finishing touch was to add some sequins (Cupcake Inspirations).  Now all I have to do is wait for someone to get sick!  (Just kidding!)  ~Debbie
