CIC #346--The Paper Shelter

This week at Cupcake Inspirations we have a fun color challenge for you--white, berry, and silver. Our sponsor is The Paper Shelter, who is generously providing a $15 gift certificate to their store to one lucky, randomly chosen crafter. For your chance, be sure to link up at Cupcake Inspirations with your project using this week's colors!

My card features The Paper Shelter's darling Whimsical Dragon. I colored him with Spectrum Noir markers. Then using a sketch from YNS, I cut some Echo Park paper and adhered them to the card based. I added some leftover silver string from Christmas to add a bit of texture before adhering the image. The last step was to add some shimmer using a sparkly gel pen and a Wink of Stella.  Though simple, I love how it turned out. Once I decide how I am going to use the card--birthday, Valentine's Day?--I will add a sentiment inside the card. Well that's it for today's card! Thanks for stopping by!  ~Debbie

YNS--3 Cards-1 sketch & 1 color scheme

I received my Your Next Stamps a couple of days ago, and I couldn't wait to play with this set--Coffee Right Meow!  I mean kitties and coffee--all in one set! And the kitties are darling as are the super fun sentiments. I decided to challenge myself to use all three kitty images using both the color and sketch challenge at Your Next Stamp!  I pulled out a DCWV stack and found the gorgeous shades of blues.  Here are my three cards!  I can't wait to get my work done, so I can play with them again!  ~Debbie

If you pull, there is a tag for a coffee gift card.

This is how I always feel when I drink the last drop!

As I did not want to waste the die-cut hello, I whipped up this card to coordinate with the card above!

Happy Chinese New Year

I recently purchased this darling stamp from Your Next Stamp--Miya from China--because I work at a Chinese Dual Language Immersion school. All the teachers who teach Chinese to our DLI students are amazing, so I wanted to make them cards to celebrate the Chinese New Year!  I am just loving this image.  She is fun to both color and paper piece. (See CIC343 post for another take on the image.) I was rummaging through my papers and found this little calendar paper. I thought it would be a perfect background, especially with the FMS sketch!  I can't wait to to give this to my coworkers!  Thanks for stopping by! Debbie

CIC343--Your Next Stamp

This week at Cupcake Inspirations we have a great theme--Around the World, and we are sponsored by the fabulous Your Next Stamp.  With the Chinese New Year just around the corner, I used YNS's Miya from China stamp. This card will be for my co-worker who teaches Chinese to our Dual Language Immersion students. Since this is the Year of the Monkey, I used a monkey stamp from one of my first stamp sets--Mindy's Zoo by Autumn Leaves. I used this week's sketch from Sketch Saturday. This helped me add the different layered elements. I can't wait to give this to my teammate!  Thanks for stopping by!  Debbie

Happy New Year and welcome to Cupcake Inspirations Challenge.  This week is a theme challenge--Elegance.  We have a wonderful sponsor--Sparkle 'N Sprinkle! The gold ribbon is from Michael's and the vintage ivory ribbon is from DL Art. The rest of the supplies are from my stash. A few months ago I won a couple stamp sets from Kraftin' Kimmie. I just love these coffee drinking gals!  Not only are they cute, but they are so fun to color! I colored them with Spectrum Noir markers and the paper is glitter paper from DCWV.  I can't wait to send this one to my sister!
