The Sea is (still) Calling

I love using this cover die because it makes for a fun watery backdrop.  I was inspired by the colors for the {PIN}spirational Challenge-Blue and Green, so I used Distress Oxide inks in varying shades of greens and light blues to create the "water". For the center panel, I used some forgotten embossing powder by Hero Arts--Sand which makes a fun sandy beach. I especially like the texture of it. At last, I added the furry feline. I like how it turned out.

Relax & Enjoy

I really liked the Try It on Tuesday Sketch, and I wanted to combine it with a couple of challenges (see below) that requires "wings." I've been shopping my stash a lot lately. I pulled out the Rub-a-Dub-Dub set. These little ducks just make me smile. I remembered I had some rubber duck paper in a baby paper pack. I thought the two would look fun together, and guess what? They do!  I drew in the paneling, tile floor, and shelf. It was lots of fun to put it all together! Thanks for stopping by!

Debbie

Celebrate

Shaker cards are not my forte, but I can't get better if I don't try. I watched a video on how to use a little plastic bag for the shaker element. I looked at my meager collection of shaker "fillings" and found paper that would coordinate. Here's to making more shaker cards!

Hey Dad

With Father's Day approaching, I thought it was time to make a card for my husband from the cats. We currently have two cats, Catapult and Velcro.  We lost our beloved Peevey 15 years ago, but I thought he needed to be part of the card. I wanted more masculine paper, so I pulled a very old My Mind's Eye paper pad--Adventure. The colors and patterns make for a great "manly" vibe. I then die cut the striped paper with a die from Newton's Nook Designs-Frame & Flags die set. I cut a small piece using the blue paper. I added a cream trim to separate the carpet and the wall. I then stamped the TV set from a beloved stamp set by Paper Smooches--Boob Tubes. I then did some masking and stamped the little kittens from Lawn Fawn's Happy Couple stamp set. I then stamped the kitty from Lawn Fawn's Keep on Swimming stamp set.  I colored with Copic markers and did some fussy cutting. As I arranged things, I felt that the "room" was missing, so I pulled out Newton's Nook Designs Cozy Home stamp set. I stamped the little table and the vase, colored, and fussy cut.  I arranged everything and adhered to the panel.  I then cut the wood panel strip and added it to the card base before adding the panel.  My final touch was stamping the sentiment from the Boob Tubes stamp set.  I think this is going to make a wonderful Dad's Day card!

Debbie

Inky Paws Challenge #250 Week 2

Inky Paws Challenge

Week 2 Inspiration

Use your Newton's Nook Designs products with a spring theme!

You have until Friday, March 27, 2026 (Midnight, CST) to play along. Each DT member will pick a favorite project to showcase, AND one RANDOM entry will win a $20 store credit to Newton's Nook Design online shop!

I have two cards today featuring papers from the Newton's Nook Designs
Cheerful Brights Glitter Cardstock Assortment and the Happy Easter paper pack. I used the NND Card Layout 6 die. By using the layout die, I was able to used all the elements of the die for two cards. I also used a light orange cardstock to create the frame for the first card as well as for the die cut sentiment using the NND Happy Easter die. For the bunnies, I used some scrap Kraft cardstock and cut out two bunnies using the Bunny Silhouettes die set. For the first bunny, I also cut out a bunny tail using felt.  The second bunny's tail is a little pom pom. I love how both cards turned out. The first one is super shiny with mostly glitter paper, but the other one is so cute with the majority of the card with the carrots.

I hope I've inspired you to come join us!

Inky Paws Challenge #238 Week 3

 Welcome to Inky Paws'

March Challenge!

For March, we have a spring theme to play with!

You have four weeks to get creative with showers and flowers using your NND Products!

You have from Friday, March 28, 2025 (Midnight, CST) to play along. One random participant will receive a $20 store credit to Newton's Nook Designs!

Debbie's spring card features Heartfelt Blooms, Floral Delights, Spring Blooms, Plaid, Petite Flowers, and Newton's Flower Garden by Newton's Nook Designs; #inkypaws, #newtonsnook, #cardmakingideas, #cardmaking, #cardchallenge, #floralcards, #flowercards, #catcards

I started by cutting a 4"x5 1/4" panel in white and one in pink. I used Distress Oxide ink and the Petite Flowers to create the pink panel. I then cut this panel in half-2"x 5 1/4". I then used the same ink with the Plaid stencil on white paper. I then used Distress Oxide Mowed Lawn with the second stencil from the Plaid stencil set.  I cut this panel in half. I adhered both panels to my card base.  I then stamped and colored (Copic Markers) the daisies from the Floral Delights stamps set. I added the square panel using the green Quatrefoil design from the Spring Blooms paper pad. I then stamped and colored the feline from the Newton's Flower Garden stamp set. I added a bit of lavender to add a pop of color. I adhered with 3D tape.  Finally, I used the Mowed Lawn pad to make the strip of green paper and added the sentiment from the Heartfelt Blooms stamp set. I love all the pink and all the different flowers.

1 Sketch-4 Unique Cards

The above sketched inspired all four of the above cards. I used the retired White Rabbit Hole Designs coffee critters for each card, but tried to make each card unique by changing the shape for each one.
Additional Challenges, if any, are listed below each card.
