The Sea is (still) Calling

I love using this cover die because it makes for a fun watery backdrop.  I was inspired by the colors for the {PIN}spirational Challenge-Blue and Green, so I used Distress Oxide inks in varying shades of greens and light blues to create the "water". For the center panel, I used some forgotten embossing powder by Hero Arts--Sand which makes a fun sandy beach. I especially like the texture of it. At last, I added the furry feline. I like how it turned out.

Inky Paws Challenge #233-Week 3

For my card, I was inspired to create a card celebrating the just desserts of a successful harvest!

Today's card features several stamp sets. My aim was to depict the bounty of the harvest, to using the harvest in a dessert, to what one looks like after partaking the harvest!  I did this by using the kitty in his pumpkin basket from the Fall Harvest stamp set. I then used the kitty making the pie and the very full kitty from the Newton's Thanksgiving stamp set. I colored them with Copic markers using some gray for the challenge colors.  I then added some layers using the  Basic Frames die set with papers from the Autumn Basics paper pad. I really liked the green gingham paper because gingham has such a warm, county feel to it. I pulled the sentiment from the  Fall Roundabout stamp set. I think the "Give Thanks" can mean so many things--giving thanks to those who grow and harvest the bounty, to those who work so hard to create delicious foods from the harvest, to those who are fortunate enough to enjoy the rewards of all the hard work. I'm so thankful to all that tiredlessly work to bring the bounty of this country to my local grocer! Thank you so much!

I created a circle-shaped card using the Circle Frames die set. I then pulled the orange leave paper from the Autumn paper pad for my background. I stamped images from the Fall Harvest and the Autumn Newton stamp sets using Copic markers.  I adhered with 3D tape.  I added the sentiment for the last touch.  I love the rich colors of autumn, and I think I captured a bit of that color in my card.

Sometimes it's the smallest things

I was intrigued with the Twisted Challenge combining coffee with rain, so I decided to give it ago. I mean, I did move to a coffee-loving, rainy part of the country. For my card, I used several Newton's Nook Designs products:  Framework dies, Umbrella Pals stamp set, and Sending Hugs stamp and die set. Then I found this sentiment in the Coffee Talks stamp set by Lil' inkers Designs. I also used the Anytime Tags die set by Lil' inkers. I think this will make a fabulous card to someone with a coffee gift certificate when the days get gray and gloomy!
