Sending Piles of Spring Time Smiles

 I tried my hand at watercolors today.  I like watercolors, but am still working on how to best use them in my cards. I used the Freshly Made Sketches to create three distinct layers--blue, burgundy, and green.  I then stamped Newton's Nook Designs Spring Pile Up stamp set and again used watercolors on it. I heat embossed the sentiment and added a bit of striped Washi tape and twine.  One card down for Easter!

I just learned about this ameowzing blog hop, and I knew I had to play. My card features stamps from Newton's Nook Designs--the celebrate sentiment is from the Birthday Essentials stamp set.  I stamped the celebrate repeatedly in the colors of the rainbow. The sweet kitty image is from the Sending Hugs stamp and die set. I have him holding the little birthday present. I added twine to the top.  I placed all of this on a teal backdrop that I had scored several times.  I used a black card based.

I just love long weekends!  Here's a card using some darling Purple Onions stamps and MFT die cuts. I colored these cute images with Spectrum Noir markers. I embossed the white card stock then added some Distress Ink with a sponge. I added a bit of bling, twine, and ribbon to finish it off!

NND--Enjoy the Day

Today's card features Newton watching a sunrise over the Atlantic awaiting a day of fun at the beach OR relaxing after a day of fun and watching a sunset over the Pacific.  To make this card, I sketched the scene and then water colored it.  I traced it in black gel pen. I wasn't totally thrilled, so I used a sparkly gel pen over the waves and sunset to add a bit of glimmer.  For the clouds, I retraced with a white gel pen to soften the black.  For Newton and his beach accessories, I stamped and fussy cut.  Then shaded with Spectrum Noir markers. I stamped the sentiment and attached the sequins and my fussy cuts.  I punched the corners of the blue card stock and adhered my scene.  At last I attached everything to the base.  So no matter if this is a sunset or sunrise, Newton is having the time of his life at the beach!
